recessions xxi was recorded from June to December 2021 on and off as an unintentional side project. creating ambient music serves a plethora of purposes for me, from a creative outlet to just helping feeling grounded with something to focus on during tumultuous times. i don't have hopes for this collection to bring anyone anything, as it isn't anything. formless. repetitive. secluded. music doesn't have to amount to something beyond existing.

some technical didgeridoo: every track was recorded straight to tape from my modular synthesizer, featuring excessive use of digital sound sources and analog compressors and mixers to get a little something something. some call it juju, some call it mojo, for me it has something to do with headroom that makes the precision cut digital sound sparkle and glitter in a musical way.
