The 45min hammer-fisted exploration pulls you head first into the raw, guttural soundscapes of noise, industrial and power electronics.

Poised for the next Italian Olympics release will be ‘Escúchame Cabrón’, a tape compilation curated by Kent. It will feature a selection of female artists and will try to help raise awareness on the oppression of women in Spain

Music is widely considered the most direct art form in its emotional immediacy. In music, we can approach emotionally complicated states (sadness, longing, darkness) which we might otherwise recoil from in everyday life. Catharsis is one of these complex emotional states, and is at the core of Bleie’s The Adept. 

The Adept is a deeply personal work for Sarah Bly aka Bleie. These pieces were created as a cathartic burst and healing salve just after the Ghost Ship fire in Oakland which took the lives of dozens of our friends. 

This is a sound universe with feels. Darkly beautiful environments are filled with deeply evolving tonal instruments, roiling percussion, hazy distortion and crisp sound design. Don’t forget the banging kickdrums. It was recorded in performance, live to stereo, and it has the heavy energy of live hardware-based techno. It also reaches a depth of feeling and textural complexity that sets it apart from simple genre exercises.

MMP045 - SONS OF TRADERS - META MOTO PODCAST

QUARANTINE SONIC SQUAD est une communauté de musicien-nes de différents horizons formels et stylistiques, rassemblé-es sous cette seule et même bannière suite aux mesures de confinement radicales prises par l'État français en réponse à l'épidémie de COVID-19. 

L'idée derrière le projet "DAL DE VIVRE" est née de deux contextes spécifiques qui sont les conséquences directes de cette crise socio-sanitaire globale. Tout d'abord, cette situation nouvelle et extra-ordinaire de confinement (temporaire mais non moins nécessaire) qui nous a poussé toutes et tous en tant qu'artistes, interprètes, producteur-ices, instrumentistes, DJs et autre professionnel-les de la musique, à repenser notre activité professionnelle à l'aune d'un repli spatial forcé. Puis en un second temps, la situation plus qu'alarmante dont souffrent les plus démuni-es de nos soeurs et frères humain-es, mal-logé-es, sans-abris et autres occupants de logements insalubres, rendu-es de facto incapables de se confiner sereinement. Cette précarité, déjà visible bien avant l'apparition du virus, est exacerbée par la gestion ultra-libérale des territoires habitables. Effet collatéral d'une époque où la privatisation des biens publics par certaines puissances industrielles et économiques tend à être rendue légitime par les institutions qui devraient pourtant oeuvrer à  leur sauvegarde. Et dont les symptômes ressentis intimement, dans nos chairs, ne font que s'amplifier en ces temps d'urgence sanitaire.

Également conscient-es des engagements militants menés par le DAL (Droit Au Logement) afin de faire bouger les lignes sur ce sujet à une échelle plus globale, nous avons donc décidé de produire un objet musical qui viendrait soutenir leur lutte sur le plan financier (par contribution directe en achetant cet album - à prix libre) tout en constituant un relais à leurs différentes modes d'actions actuels revendications d’urgence : la réquisition des hôtels, meublés touristiques, logements et bureaux vacants pour loger les sans abris mais aussi très mal logés et victimes de violences conjugales et intra-familiales, le moratoire sur les loyers et les factures d’énergie, avec rétablissement et renforcement des APL, l’arrêt de toutes les expulsions...

Malgré ce contexte tout à fait nouveau qui tend à interpeller nos consciences, nous avons produit cet album animé-es par des énergies salvatrices. Tous les morceaux qui le composent sont les produits du confinement et du bouillonnement de ses auteur-ices. Il comprend aussi quelques collaborations inédites d'artistes qui n'auraient d'aventure pas été amenés à travailler ensemble dans une autre temporalité, mais qui se retrouvent ici main dans la main pour créer un contenu musical solidaire et militant. Sa narration a été pensée comme un écoulement, qui vient tout du long se faire remuer par des vagues soniques aux couleurs variées qui, nous l'espérons, rappelleront à nos auditeur-ices à quel point la scène électronique française est riche musicalement. Par delà les frontières du genre et des querelles esthétiques de chapelle. Bonne écoute et bonne lutte !

Machka - Le Chant De La Tortue Rouge

From the very beginning, Syntax made it clear in its staging that its bet on its clubbing activity was going to be special, that it was going to take care of both the image and the line-up and, of course, that its style was going to be broad and very elusive with everything that represents the conventional scene. This philosophy was taken a couple of months ago to their new recording activity with a first album that already showed all that musical diversity from which they are nourished, with 6 tracks that determined their favoritism by genres such as industrial and electro.

Two months have gone by and the platform announces again a new release with a similar approach regarding the combination of international artists with local artists, a bit more extensive in terms of number of tracks but, this time the style is more balanced and directed to a single genre such as electro.

InhuM'AwZ opens the album with a track that is slightly detached from electro and is perfect for introducing the listener to the robotic theme that this genre offers, as this mix of electronica and downtempo is also enriched with technological textures. Curve chooses to include an acid line in a structure that is completely unique to electro. Slokto continues with the same direction of the release but gives it much more robustness and pressure than to the rest of the tracks. Scape One selects a sound that identifies it perfectly. Garçon Taupe's track takes us to a more primary stage, with a melodic preset that is not at all old-fashioned due to the sound agility of its treatment and modulation. The constant and forceful break of Fleck ESC 's track is strengthened by a cosmic harmonic structure and an acidic bass that appears by surprise several times. Kör Boira proposes a more dynamic tone with a track in which the rhythm is sharpened by the combination of percussion, acid arpeggios and voices. Pip Williams closes this album with a more direct electro with techno influences and superb bass.

Premiere: InhuM'AwZ - SadNess [SYNTAX Electronix]

The 2nd in a series of two new releases by French tape-based experimental artist Jérôme Noetinger, who has treated us to countless unforgettable live sets at OTO. For this he presents two pieces in collaboration with Jean-Philippe Gross based on the idea of the exquisite corpse.

"There is a great tradition of exchange and correspondence work in experimental music. In the 80's, there were a lot of cassettes with musicians who had never met each other but were exchanging sounds by mail. Nowadays it's even simpler and more obvious.

The imposed period of confinement - in France between March 17 and May 11 - was ideal for restarting such projects.
With Jean-Philippe Gross, our collaboration is older and we have had the opportunity to play several times as a duo. I have always been impressed by his dexterity, rigour and discipline in the electronic field.

For the first track, a musician created a first sequence lasting between 10 seconds and seven minutes, and sent only the last 10 seconds to the next one who then mixed or pasted his sequence into it, and so on for a total of 16 exchanges.

For the second, the number of exchanges has been limited to 14, with a duration of between 10 seconds and three minutes, but each having a maximum reserve of 10 minutes.

The final result was only filtered and slightly equalized in terms of volume." - Jérôme Noetinger

Il s'agit là d'une compilation de titres aux tendances Acid/Expérimentaux que nous propose le label qui, pour composer cette sélection au poil, à envoyé ses émissaires battre la campagne française, poussant même l'exploration des territoires jusqu'en Italie !
Cette compilation est un mélange de têtes connues proches de Santé Records ou
aillant déjà collaboré avec le label, mais aussi de talents cachés dans l'ombre
de leur home-studio n'aillant que trop rarement dévoilé leurs talents au grand
jour.
Une compilation qu'elle compile sacrément bien !
