This totally improvised Live Stems Mix of Gino Soccio's iconic track "Dancer" was performed during a Twitch stream on March 19, 2022 using Traktor DJ Studio and a Native Instruments D2 controller.

It has the sort of hypnotic flow that feels like a perfect fit for getting 'lost in sound' at an after-hours party in a dark room full of sweaty bodies.

Featuring the track "Bad for Me," this release is an expression of legacy, innovation, and the bonds of kinship within the music industry. Santonio Echols, a figure known for his seminal work with Kevin Saunderson under Reese and Santonio and his contributions to the influential "godsaidgiveemdrummachines" documentary, embarks on this endeavour alongside his two sons, blending the depth of experience with the fresh perspectives of the next generation.

"Bad for Me," a cover of the 1979 classic by Dee Dee Bridgewater produced by George Duke, serves as the heart of this release. Rejuvenated by flawless vocal work from Makeda Rose and remixed by a cadre of the finest underground producers from Detroit to Chicago. Santonio's involvement brings a richness to the project, his background in music and deep-rooted connections to the scene infuse the track with a palpable sense of continuity.

Featuring remix work from Eddie Fowlkes, Ron Caroll, Brian Bonds, Keither Tucker, Dj Emanuell and Manny Deep. Each taking the original in their own unique direction, from filter-funk, stripped back groovey house to more tech inspired work. The timeless nature of the music tying it all together nicely.

This release is part of Santonio Echols' desire to weave his history with the fresh future talents of his sons, creating a record that is both a homage to the past and a guiding light for the future.      Santonio Echols (Santonio, Dj Adam Pole) (Tresor Records (Berlin)Detroit Dancer, D Records (Germany,) A.E.S. (Art, Eddie and Santonio,) Opilec Music, Cyren America Records, Siren, Chapter 2 Recordings (Detroit), Made In Detroit Random Noise Recordings (Belgium)  and q mentoring partner to I  Believe In You Records [USA].  Santonio is  member  of the first generation of Techno Producers to emerge from Detroit, MI, in the late 1980’s.  His discography spans 1987 to date and he is currently in production on the Liz Torres  “Mind Games - Remix” on Third Ear Recordings.
     Echols is well known for his role in the famed duo “Reese & Santonio,” who are responsible for timeless underground classics  spanning 1987-89,  "The Sound/ How To Play Our Music, Bounce Your Body to the Box, Truth of Self Evidence and the internationally renowned "Rock to the Beat" which was distributed in 1988 on the UK label “ffrr” (Full Frequency Range Recordings.)
     After completing production in England with ffrr, Echols had the confidence to continue his passion for producing techno and house music.  He developed  a relationship with Paragon Productions and James Pennington aka Suburban Knight and the compilation, “There’s No Way Out”  featuring the track “It’s Not Over,” was released.  Additionally in 1989 Santonio remixed "Take me away" by Bridgette Grace, written by Jeff Mills and  T.Srock for Paragon Productions.  Santonio Echols has toured in Europe including gigs at Tresor Club in Berlin and Club Slam in Cologne. He started DJ’ing when he was 19 years old with his brother Duane Evans in the old school traditions of the West Side of Detroit and never stopped being committed to going to the next level. 2007 saw the release of “Extraction of Identity”  on Cyren America Records. This is one of over 30 releases
     During the last two years  Santonio has worked Nikolaos Moiré Patterns, Clemens Neufeld,  Oliver Lieb, Combinator, Jonas Asp,  Duane Evans, Orlando Voorn, MoBlack, Dj Deep, Greg Stafford, Claude Young, Blake Baxter, Eddie Fowlkes, Raquel Roberts, Gospel singer QuWonna Toney , Mike Anderson (Italy), Robert Doubledee Mills.
Santonio has a list too long to name of people he thanks keeping him committed to the dream and reminding him to never give up, however he would be remiss to not recognize the loving support of his wife and children, as well friends in music and life including Blake Baxter, Eddie Fowlkes and his brother Duane Evans.
