DFTD delivers a package of unmissable club heat from Red Eye and Ancient Deep’s collaborative project R.E.A.D. Already tearing up dancefloors since last summer, this anticipated release’s distinctive vocal hook caught the attention of Defected Radio Show host Rimarkable and became a staple in her club sets, before it was picked up by the label’s A&R team for a full release. This package features the hypnotic original and R.E.A.D.’s stripped back Get After It Mix, as well as remixes from Ocha Records boss CASAMENA and Italian club don Marco Faraone. While CASAMENA takes a classic house approach with joyous piano chords and an irresistible 4x4 groove, Marco Faraone goes tougher with powerful synth stabs and a fierce bass destined for peak time moments.

#PlasticFreeParty is a collection of conscientious, green-hearted tunes from some of our favourite artists, all brought together to highlight the incredible work being done by our friends at Bye Bye Plastic, the disruptive nonprofit working to eliminate single-use plastics in the music industry and restore Earth balance. The album will be officially launched at this year’s Amsterdam Dance Event with a party organised in collaboration with Levantine House in the luxurious W Amsterdam on release day, Thursday 20th October. A world-first, ground-breaking non-vinyl physical version of the album is also in the works.

Curated by Parisian DJ duo Chambord and released on BLOND:ISH’s ABRACADABRA label, #PlasticFreeParty brings together 14 new tracks from artists like BLOND:ISH, Shiba San, Vander & Deer Jade, Urmet K, Zigan Aldi and Chambord themselves.  100% of the album’s profits will be forwarded to the Bye Bye Plastic Foundation, enabling them to increase their visibility and message.

Chambord explained how the compilation came to fruition; “In 2020, we worked with Bye Bye Plastic for our first live performance in France. During this time, we gathered a group of friends and associates to create fundraising for this cause, and have been working together ever since. We met with Camille from the BBP foundation, and together with Blond:ish we decided to create a music compilation to raise funds. Together we can hopefully achieve our goals and make a difference.”
