I was first turned on to Goa music in the early 90s, young and innocent, discovering the communal state of trance for the first time. Back then I wasn’t interested in its roots or it’s origins and preferred to get lost in music not thinking of the days to come or those gone by.
When it all became formulaic and a genre as such, things started to lose their magic and I begun to explore sounds of the past, turning my nose up at something which for me had lived it’s course…
I dived into a whole new sonic horizon, old relics which sounded new to me and more interesting than a lot of contemporary releases. Unconsciously, I was drawing a map which covered many seminal dancefloors worldwide. I would later find out that the distance between most of these tracks had no boundaries as they could just as well have been played in Chicago, Manchester, Gent, Ibiza, Baia Degli Angeli, or Goa…
This mix can be listened to like a GPS directing you towards those places, somewhere in the mid 80s, with Goa as the meeting point and final destination. Funnily enough it is also very close to the first mixes that helped put my name on the map almost 20 years ago…

Hello music people, we are delighted to officially announce the brand new Nocturnal Hazard sister label Esfinge Edits run by Sphynx People, the studio-only balearic discofied assemblage lead by Roman Truth in collaboration with two mysterious disco editors and record collectors from the UK. This forthcoming sister label will be dedicated to release and promote stoner disco, adult oriented disco and more psychedelic balearic-minded discofied sounds and we can’t resist to upload the first mix installment of the "Music For Stoners & Lovers" mix series some weeks before to introduce you on the sound of this new label adventure for the Sphynx People boys that we been curating together for months. We selected some slowed down obscure tunes carefully from our music collections that ranges from stoner disco, disco not disco, balearic, new beat, AOR, new-wave, synth-pop, italo and worldy jams to reggae, experimental and more eclectic psychedelic adult dance music to put out interesting one hour(ish) studio mixes on Soundcloud for your ear pleasure mixed with love by the Sphynx People members. The debut four-track EP on Esfinge Edits still on the works and will be out on further months of this year. In the mean time, we hope you enjoy the first mix of the Esfinge Edits mix series.
