Ursprünglich aus dem Libanon, bin ich nach Europa gekommen, um eine Karriere in der Wissenschaft anzustreben. Heute arbeite ich als Wissenschaftlerin und lebe in München. In den letzten Jahren habe ich meine Liebe zur Kunst und Musik erforscht, die ich immer in mir getragen habe. In meiner Freizeit bin ich also damit beschäftigt, Musik zu produzieren, aufzulegen oder mich mit anderen künstlerischen Formen wie Literatur/Poesie und Malerei auseinanderzusetzen

BLOOM #4 Safahs

Here it is: a Wednesday night to remember. Putting together a mosaic of varied rhythms, multiform beats, elated chimes and some experimental mixing. Two hours of sonic painting that I deeply enjoyed together with a beautiful eager crowd. 

Happy to have delivered several genres I love apart from the usual, on a very special weeknight. 

My hearty thanks go to Electroamore, Unter Deck and the curious dancers for providing a lovely environment to freestyle art.

I have come to notice that being an artist is a back and forth between inhibition and release. Posting this mix is a small release.

It’s a 30-minute hybrid set - a mix of beloved gems on wax and digital treasures.
It weaves through some of my favorite spaces: techno, electro, ambient, trance, experimental textures, jungle, and even drum and bass.

Mixing across those genres isn’t always easy, but here I tried to trace a single axis -of tempo, rhythm, energy. From sparse to dense. Steady to broken. Reflective to kinetic.

I’ve always loved what Objekt said in an interview with Resident Advisor:

"Tempo is one axis in the overall multi-dimensional space of music.
Energy level is another. There's a lot of different melodic components that factor in as well—like density and sparsity. All of these things are directions that you can go in from a certain point."

Recording this set felt like driving a super fast car (which might explain the length. Too fast to last :D)
