I was born in 1970 and raised in Bad Vilbel, a small town close to Frankfurt am Main in Germany.

My break as country music journalist came in 1995 writing for CountryCircle magazine in Germany.

Since that time I have written for several national and international print magazines as well as for several internet magazines including Country Stars Online.

And working together with two radio stations,I built my name and reputation step by step in America and Europe doing interviews with major country music stars like Hank Williams Jr., Gretchen Wilson, George Jones, Montgomery Gentry, The Oak Ridge Boys, Wynonna and more.

I have also interviewed many behind the scenes people like Ray Baker who produced Merle Haggard, George Strait and Moe Bandy.

Rock 'N' Roll legend turned country songwriter Buzz Cason was also a notable interview.

	Born in Colac Victoria Gene’s musical interests began when he joined a Banjo club at age 11 playing concerts and radio shows.
He entered the Royal Australian Air Force as an engineering apprentice in 1951 and served his country for 15 years, which included overseas posting to Malaysia and Thailand.
He began his broadcasting career at Butterworth Malaysia at Radio RAAF in 1960 as one of their first announcers.
On completion of military service Gene became a Disc Jockey on commercial radio at
3HA Hamilton, Victoria in 1967 and went on to 3CV Maryborough, Victoria, 3BO Bendigo, Victoria and 3GL Geelong, Victoria.
At 3UZ in Melbourne he hosted a top rated Country Music programme from 1977 until 1980 followed by CM programmes on 3GL Geelong and community stations 3CCC Bendigo 3PBS Melbourne & 3YYR Geelong in the 1980s and 1990s

Gene is an award winning songwriter & recording artist with a musical career spanning nearly 5 decades and is a founding member of Country FM radio in Geelong a 24-hour Country Music station. At Country Fm Gene is programme/music director and an announcer. Gene is an active performer and promoter of Country Music in Australia.

In 2001 He won 4 separate awards Male Vocal, Best Independent release Best Duo Open Section & Best Duo Victorian (with his daughter Donna Fisk) at the Victorian Country Music Awards with his release Way Over The Edge.
His latest release 2003 ‘KIDMAN’ was written by Gene about the great Australian legendary Cattle King Sidney Kidman.
‘ KIDMAN ‘ was a finalist in the Victorian Country Music awards for male vocal and also in the Tamworth songwriter Awards for Bush Ballad Of the Year.’ KIDMAN’ won the 2003 Australian Independent Country Music Award for Best Heritage Track of the Year and made top 20 on the Australian Country Music Charts with a 15 week run.
Gene was inducted into the Australian music Broadcasters Hall OF Fame in 1999.
