Roy Rosenfeld is a producer who prioritizes independence, freedom of expression, and spiritual depth over passing trends. His new label, "No Drama," embodies his musical and lifestyle aesthetics. Despite his advanced studio skills, Rosenfeld remains modest and collaborative. The label's inaugural release features his work alongside Sébastien Léger and Guy J.
The A-side opens with Sébastien Léger's "Omira," a track that guarantees a lively atmosphere on any dance floor. Its eclectic spirit combines world music elements with hypnotic house beats, building up to a powerful crescendo.
Next, Rosenfeld's "Nana" merges the organic house with a carnival vibe and cinematic melodies, all enhanced by tribal percussion.
The B-side starts with Guy J's "Karma," a dark, seductive, and cerebral piece for discerning listeners. This trance-inducing track employs subtle variations of repetitive sequences, creating a minimalist yet captivating soundscape.
The final track on the B-side, "Saga Dawa," available only on vinyl, showcases Rosenfeld's genre-defying talent. He combines Middle Eastern melodies with psychedelic sounds, unpredictable vocal samples, exceptional dance rhythms, and even piano chords, resulting in an inspiring track.
This release marks the launch of "No Drama" and the start of Rosenfeld's new journey.

This is a "pirate collab"... I wrote a song and was listening to the original track, 'What can I do' by Saturna and CØNTRA and jammed bits of my song with it an found that they were harmonically sympatico and had the same kind of basement flooding quality..  Then I heard the Abstrakt Sonance flip of the song and found that my song fit perfectly so I brazenly asked for permission to post it  so is it this. Big ups to Abstrakt Sonance and Saturna and CØNTRA, whose original version indeed slaps.

Save this name: Braulio Renteria, a young Mexican artist, makes his official debut as a producer on the awe-inspiring project Sinchi Collective – a multifaceted music platform that includes a label, a DJ collective, an event promoter, a mix series and a blog. The Collective also established the Sinchi Foundation, which is a non-profit that upholds the UN’s declaration on the rights of Indigenous Peoples (UNDRIP) and promotes the strength and beauty of indigenous cultures.

Regarding their third release, Altered States Vol. I is a various artists compilation that shows off the label’s broad array of sounds of producers from all over the world. The track we chose to premiere, ‘Venus’, is a “moody, heavyweight cut with punky attitude and cosmic keys”, the right elements “for a real trip”, according to the label’s description.

We asked “Braulitro” to say a few words about himself and his work: "My inspiration when creating tracks with this energy comes from my influences and experience in the DJ booth, my style is defined by many as dynamic, full of funny percussions and organic sounds, like guitars and wind instruments. I have always been passionate about music, especially the alternative rock, and science fiction movies, and that is exactly what I wanted to reflect on 'Venus', the energy of my DJ sets, my taste for music and an extra-terrestrial sensation as a sci-fi film". And he successfully did it!

..There’s a lot of nostalgic glamour associated with the ’20s and ’30’s era. Singers who choose to sing this material often end up as replicas of the sultry divas of the past, dressing up in satin gowns and pearls and stale femininity. Not Sarah McDonald. She approaches her material with a tomboyish attitude, phrasing the classic jazz and obscure torch songs that comprise her set list with a punk sensitivity and a kind of modern-day angst delivered by this beautiful, soulful chili-infused chocolate voice of hers. When she opens her mouth, she showers her audience with raw emotion. No pretense, no polished femininity, no nonsense. It helps that she’s sexy as hell when she does it; and that she’s surrounded by a killer band: Ron Romero on tenor sax, Kumar Shome on guitar, Ben Hanlon on the bass and Lewis Pierre-Humbert on the drums. As these musicians spew fire from their instruments, people get up and dance to her singing, even if she sings Monk’s “I mean you” (not the most danceable song out there)."

Sarah McDonald evokes cool smoky jazz club atmosphere with expressive melifluous phrasing contrasting with rhythmic dexterity.  She is a singer who has been as influenced by horn players and drummers as she has by the great vocalists. Having delved deeply into music, she draws from the greats of the history of jazz, blues and soul and selects choice standards, along with original, contemporary and more esoteric repertoire that she infuses with a soulful authenticity.

She has had a wealth of experience performing original music in various guises, playing in a range of contemporary original bands, world music ensembles and playing music for circus, theatre and film.

She also plays flute and sings in Tarab Ensemble, playing classical Arabic music:
