Echo Box was part of a program performed in April 2014 that featured works for flute and electronics. This is the live recording from that performance. 

The original piece calls for amplified Baroque flute and electronic delay, and is the second movement of a larger work composed for and premiered by Stephen Schultz.

Sarah is a Pittsburgh-based flutist who enjoys a multifaceted career as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player. She has appeared in concert across the United States, France, England and Holland, in venues such as Boston's Symphony Hall and Amsterdam's Concertgebouw. She appeared as a soloist with the Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic in October of 2014, performing Ibert's Concerto for Flute and Orchestra under the baton of Uriel Segal after winning the University's Concerto Competition at the age of nineteen. 

Sarah has also appeared in concert with many local ensembles, including the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra, Bodiography Contemporary Ballet, OvreArts, and the Carnegie Mellon Philharmonic. Other collaborations include a performance of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf with members of the Boston Philharmonic. 

Sarah's interests as a soloist concentrate on amplified flute, synthesizers, and electronic soundscapes. Her April 2014 recital, Mozart and the Electric Flute, featured major electronic works from the flute repertoire, including Steve Reich's Vermont Counterpoint. Featured on the same program was Carnegie Mellon's Matisse String Quartet for a performance of Mozart's Flute Quartet in D major. 

Sarah's principal teachers have included Alberto Almarza, Jeanne Baxtresser, and Nina Barwell. Sarah holds a BFA in Flute Performance from Carnegie Mellon University.
