Sarai is originally from Chicago, Illinois, where she grew up in musically talented family. It was then that her passion to sing was sparked at an early age. Being raised in the church, she began to sing and grow her voice. 
 
As she became older her musical influences were formed from Jazz, Blues, Salsa, Pop, Motown as well as Gospel. Growing up in Chicago she was exposed to all the great music that it offered.
