Arriving from Nice to Istanbul on the 15th of June right after the attack in Nice and before the coup in Turkey, was kind of emotionally disturbing. So much beauty, so much pain. Our gig with Batu Ozer at Arkaoda the 16th of course didn’t happen. Instead we stayed home all together, drinking tea, trying to catch what was really going on, while listening to some music. From time to time our talks got interrupted by the angry voices from the street, kids screaming for something they probably don’t even understand.

Getting back to idyllic Switzerland I decided to record a set in memory of these really touching nights at the Bosporus. Thank you so much Batu and Duygu for having me with you at your place and receiving me with such warmheartedness. I guess it’s what matters most these days. 

We are one family. Physically, emotionally and spiritually. What our brothers and sisters suffer, will also touch us profoundly in some way.

Share hugs, share friendship, share love. Fly highly and connect deeply.
