A monastery hidden in the Rheingau vineyards, brought to musical life by the https://soundcloud.com/machmallangsam crew and her guests. In August 2021, Sahra Bass was a guest at St. Konfusius Festival, which is hosted in the fabulous location of a monastery in Rheingau. On this day she enchanted the dance floor with her wonderful 2 hour set, which we are very happy to publish on our website today. Sahra Bass is a DJ and part of the producer duo https://soundcloud.com/bassaramusic from Berlin. Their electronic stories invite you to expeditions into dark, warm depths and pearly, glittering heights. Their choice of music moves between melodic-harmonic and bouncy sound spheres, but always full of emotions and driven by the low-frequency, gloomy bass waves, which can get dirty at times. They cover all areas - from downtempo and (dark/progressive) slow rave to deep/melodic and progressive house.

Saba: "Letztens war ich zuhause und wollte die Wohnung putzen. Leider war ich voll unmotivert und hatte null Bock. Also habe ich einfach zuhause aufgelegt. So von DJing her. Als ich mir das Set angehört habe, war ich dann voll motiviert die Wohnung zu putzen. Danke für eure Aufmerksamkeit. 
P.S. Das Set kann man aber auch in anderen Situationen hören. Unten findet ihr paar Beispiele"

I played this one for a very curious and intimate crowd. The beauty of a crowd like this is, it gives you the chance to - after gaining their trust - musically send them from here to there to everywhere and play some weird shit you normally would not dare to touch… so that is what I did ;)

✔️ What are your musical influences? What is your musical background?

For over a decade, afterhour music has been a big influence in my dj-mixes. Mostly because it is a place where tired still happy dancers keep the groove for the love of music, but also because it leaves space, where listeners can relax and dance at the same time..a healing combination. 

i collect tunes, listen to birds, dj many places, meet people, record frequencies, tend the garden, design sounds and am still learning.

✔️What makes good "afterhour"?

"On a misty morning in the dreams from the after..harmonies, rhythms and stories steams beautifully in the field. this is where the soul closes its eyes, and starts to  stomp in the dust of sun rays..this will pierce the forest with tomorrow"

✔️Do you have any thoughts you would like to share about your set?

I have given the title "kun slægers" in honor of the inspirational artists i am mixing in this set. I thank them for the contribution and the important work they are doing.
description: "slægers" can be translated to "slagers" which means a hit in musical terms..in norway. Probably in german too..i don't know! 
Anyway, this set is a straight up "only hits" from my present afterhour-catalogue.

It was a very special honor for me to share the decks with friends and colleagues like Margaret Dygas, Roman Flügel & Stimming, just to name a few. 3000Grad festival – I’ve been to this beautiful place a few years ago. Back then I was so stunned by the love, dedication and inspiration put into that universe. Over the past three years, I remembered pieces of that time. But when I got there this year. The moment I stepped a foot into the 3000Grad-universe I felt all those emotions and impressions all over again. It felt like time hadn’t passed. What a gift!! In this world full of change, that community was able to preserve its spirit over and over again. I’m so thankful to experience that. All those hours dancing in that universe filled my heart. Sascha Cawa is a resident DJ at Kater and an essential member of the Holzmarkt 25 community in Berlin. He is highly respected as a DJ, producer, and an active member of the underground electronic music scene. Dedicated to his craft and passionate about music, Sascha stays true to the underground ethos that has shaped his career.

Sascha's love for house and techno music started in the 1990s when he began DJing. His performances have taken him to almost every renowned club in Berlin, as well as countless other locations around the world and to prominent underground festivals and events such as Garbicz, Fusion Festival, ADE, or Mayan Warrior.

In 2011, Sascha co-founded Katermukke with his close friend Dirty Doering, which quickly became one of the most influential imprints in the German electronic music scene. Although he left the label in 2015 to focus on his personal creative projects and interests, Sascha remains an active artist on the Katermukke roster, where he continues to push the boundaries of electronic music with his unique sound and vision.

Sascha has created a loyal following with his deep, emotive sound and released acclaimed EPs and singles on Katermukke and other respected labels such as Kiosk I.D., URSL, Upon.You, and Klaus:elle, showcasing his signature blend of techno, house, and electronica. His tracks are jam-packed with deep melodies, thrilling rhythms, and richly textured soundscapes, taking listeners on an emotional journey through the full spectrum of electronic music.

Beyond DJing, Sascha is proficient in producing, mixing, mastering, and coaching. He would describe himself as a nerd with a fascination for modular synthesizers, Drum Machines and a fetish for reverb plugins.
