Pappelallee Unveils A Remixed Version of "Minimal Movement”
LoLos, the remix artist, brought the song to a different place, while
retaining its original spirit.
August 2023 - German producer Nikolaus Werther, known as
Pappelallee, has once again captivated the electronic music scene
with his most recent release, a remixed version of his iconic track
"Minimal Movement." He collaborated with LoLos, a talented aspiring
producer, through a remix contest on kreasound.com. The remixer's
perspective on the original track offered a new angle, making the work
stand out.
Remix contests are fantastic for producers as they offer a platform to
showcase their work to a broader audience. They encourage
experimentation, collaboration, and skill development, enabling
producers to gain recognition, valuable feedback, and potential
opportunities in the music industry. This is exactly the case here, as
the contest for “Minimal Movement” led to so many amazing creative
achievements.
Pappelallee has been active for quite some time now, counting many
successful releases under his belt. He has earned a distinguished
reputation in the electronic music scene for his ability to blend
minimalism with a melodic approach. Overall, Nikolaus deeply
appreciates modern techno, and his work explores its many facets.
The original "Minimal Movement" already stood out as an exceptional
piece of music in its own right. Still, Pappelallee was eager to see
what other artists could do by putting a new spin on his track.
The remix contest hosted by Pappelallee on Kreasound.com garnered
significant attention. Many people tried to reimagine the "Minimal
Movement" in their style, but LoLos' version was the one that left a
mark. His production on this remix demonstrated extraordinary
attention to detail and showcased his sound design chops. The
talented producer skillfully retained the soul of the original while
infusing it with his perspective. The remix took listeners on a
mesmerizing sonic journey, offering a unique vibe and serving as a
great companion to the original tune. LoLos found the perfect balance
between innovation and respect for the source material.
As the title might suggest," Minimal Movement" portrays a sense of
thoughtful restraint, which aligns with the core elements of minimal
techno. In the original version, Pappelallee cleverly focused on subtle
changes and rhythmic patterns, creating a feeling of controlled
movement and progression throughout the track. Emotionally, it may
evoke calmness, introspection, and an immersive journey,
characteristic of the emotional depth that only great techno music can
deliver!

imminent closure. It’s a bittersweet feeling after so many years, but as
they say, this is an ending on a high note, as this remix contest

Duality Trax first opened its books in 2020 with an EP featuring Radiant Love regular Fio Fa and a remix of the year contender coming from Lisbon’s Violet. Since then the label has become known for its acute attention to detail, giving each release the shine it deserves while avoiding disposable practices and challenging the industry through its dedication to duality and balance, whether that be sonically or surrounding gender identity.

It’s really no surprise that one of house music's leading label figures Tywi was destined to make an appearance. Having started the Haŵs imprint in his home city of Cardiff, the label’s wide-spread popularity began to gain the attention from some of the industry’s most respected heads and became a breeding ground for new artists to emerge. A shared love of music resulted in tracks being shared over time and eventually DUALITY6 was born. In what will be his first full length EP, Tywi continues to join the dots between 90’s house, prog, breaks and trance, with a huge remix coming from Frankfurt-based artist Maruwa.

Title track ‘Reality Checkpoint’ connects various styles with a modern take on progressive trance. Sonics feel as if they’ve been projected from space in a kaleidoscopic mind-warping ride, coupled with the producer's impressive ear for world building soundscapes. A child of the ‘90s, Maruwa combines her classically trained ear with the nostalgia of her upbringing in the remix; channeling early trance records and deep, chugging rhythms into a wave of euphoria fit for peak-time. It’s the first time the label has also delved head first into full trance territory, turning the intensity levels up while paying homage to both label owner and artist’s early musical influences.

The B side opens up with ‘Spellbound’ which feels like a guided tour around the cosmos, sat beside trusted travelers and embraced by everything-will-be-alright energy . The track’s interior is built around synths that feel both effortless and light as our tour guide brings us towards our final destination. The EP comes to a close with ‘Laws Of Motion’, building slowly with shades of leafy greens and deep oceanic blues as it gently brings us back down to earth.
