🗯🗯 Hat sich deine Art und Weise und vielleicht auch dein Stil Musik zu machen geändert?
 🗯🗯

Es gibt ein paar Faktoren, die ich mit den folgenden Worten beschreiben würde, die immer auf meinen Stil zutreffen: Energetisch, treibend, groovig, storytelling. Im laufe der Zeit habe ich aber immer wieder mal den Fokus mehr auf House, dann wieder mehr Techno oder auch mal organisch oder melodic gelegt. Wer mich kennt, weiss, dass ich innerhalb meines Rahmens mich immer zwischen diesen Richtungen bewegt habe. Nur das macht mir auch Spaß und motiviert mich, immer wieder aufs neue begeistert zu sein. Ich könnte mir nichts langweiligeres vorstellen, 35 Jahre den selben Stil durchzuziehen. Dennoch habe ich aber einen roten Faden, der immer da ist. Ich spreche hier von Dj sets, aber auch von Produktionen. Ich habe in meinem Leben sehr viele Collabs im Studio gemacht und auch das bringt automatisch verschiedene Einflüsse hervor.

🗯🗯 Verwendest du neue Technologie oder bist du eher klassisch unterwegs?

Ich bin immer sehr offen für neue Technologien. Ich hatte schon gleich zu Beginn, als Deejaying elektronisch wurde, damals final scratch am start. Trotzdem habe ich eine Vinylsammlung mit über 20 000 Platten gehabt. Ich mag also beide Welten. Im Studio geht es mir genauso. Ich habe eine Amek Konsole, die schon im Besitz von Pink Floyd war und eine ganze Menge analog Gear und alte Synthies von Roland, Moog, Yamaha und viele andere. Ich nutze aber genauso oft neueste Plug ins und DSP Karten von Uaudio. Ich sage immer: "Das beste aus beiden Welten macht doch am meisten Spaß"
 
🗯🗯 Was ist dein Lieblings-Club oder Festival und warum?
 🗯🗯
Diese Frage bekomme ich sehr oft gestellt und man kann sie wirklich nicht mit einer konkreten Antwort beantworten. Es gab in den letzten 30 jähren so viele gute parties und Events, auf denen ich auf der ganzen Welt spielen durfte, daß mir da einfach zu viele einfallen, die Highlights waren. Trotzdem muss sich sagen, dass es immer etwas sehr Besonderes ist, in Berlin aufzulegen. Ich spiele hier seit Jahren viel im Watergate und im Sisyphos. Hier kommen die Menschen aus der ganzen Welt zum Feiern und ich muss ja niemand hier etwas über den hedonistic life style und die besondere Athmo in den Berliner Clubs erzählen. Dann noch mit dem Taxi heimfahren zu können, macht das einfach immer perfekt.

Ich freue mich,dass wir nun endlich so langsam aus der Corona Zeit herauszugehen scheinen. Auch wenn wir mit der Ukraine schon das nächste schreckliche Ereignis haben. Ich hoffe sehr, dass es sich bei beiden schnell zum Besseren wendet und sehe den nächsten Dj sets mit physischen Menschen entgegen. trotzdem macht es auch sehr Spaß, bei UWS immer wieder dabei zu sein, denn auch hier macht es ja wie immer die Kombi...

Contrary to common belief Sascha Ries aka Sasch BBC is not a branch of british broadcasting, but nevertheless his name also stands for splendid entertainment. He delivers delicious music from Germany’s Rhein-Main-Area. Deep-seated in there are the roots of the current Loft resident, which shaped the mentality of his sound since the beginning.

In young years, Sascha was electrified by the precursors of today’s electronic scene like Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb. The desire for spinning records himself and encouraging a crowd to dance grew and was rewarded with his first residency in the age of 16 (1993) – in a time when pegging styles was not a common practice, when Techno was simply Techno and even House and Happy Breakbeats didn’t get in line. Around that time Sascha utilized an Amiga-computer to make his first steps in musical production. And for the people’s pleasure, a lot of tapes were mixed these days. Additional versatility was also proven by him in discjockey activities beyond his electronic paths. He put his mixing skills to work for the hip hop band “Noname Produkt” and released 2 CDs in collaboration wth them. But in spite of this detours his heart was always heavily beating in 4/4-steps – House and Techno. 

So in 2003 he came along the residency in the Loft Club Ludwigshafen, which remains true until today. And his impulsive sets were decisive for direct support of Sven Väth, Loco Dice, Ricardo Villalobos, Magda, Marco Carola, Richi Hawtin and many other top-class DJs. Sascha became iconic in the widely acclaimed Loft Club. Meanwhile in 2003, the event label “Envy My Music” offered him to take an additional residency in Frankfurt’s innovative Monza Club. He easily decided to do so. And by now he conquered almost all electronic clubs around the Rhein-Main-Area. On top of this his career has been elevated by playing sets at Time Warp 07 to 16! “Music has to be fun” isn’t only his often repeated mantra, it’s also a quality receptible in his sets. Heavily affected by the locally specific minimalistic Deephouse sound, he spreads his music up to groovy and funky House, Techhouse, Indie Dance and 80’s Synth Pop – but always with a certain element of high temper. Dark and blut just simply never was his thang. His music was released on such labels as 8 Bit, Great Stuff, Whatiplay, Disco Halal, Bar 25, Plastic City, Brise, Noir, Sleazy Deep, Sinope, Cimelde and Viva Music, Dear Deer....
