MetaphorM has been DJing since 1997. He gravitated toward downtempo psy and psy dub in 2007. He has played across the US at many annual psy trance festivals and clubs for over a decade now. 

MetaphorM plays from the

Andrei was born in Ukraine, about 41 years ago. He used to wear tennis rackets on his feet to walk on the Ukrainian snow and as a young teenager he found tennis rackets could also be used for other purposes, such as smacking other humans' heads or fishing. After the snow rackets and the head smacking, tuna came. He's also very fond of omelets and actually quite skilled at making them. Andrei's often seen on the sofa, at the computer or lying on the floor... usually with different packets of biscuits around his restful body. "Will I blend?", he asks himself in deep moments of introspection... "Well, it's a matter of perspective.", is the conclusion more often reached. One more biscuit. A chocolate one. "I really like this track... I wonder who the artist is... hmmm... if only I didn't have to stand up... hmmm... one more biscuit." The soundtrack to his peaceful existence is in tune with his plain tuna-based existence. Complex and simple, factual and surreal, curious and sceptic, literal and wide. With a strong identity he likes to claim. Eclectic some would say. He likes details and big windows, as long as he doesn't have to clean them. He does not waste paper, he uses it for origami creations which he not so often offers to his beloved ones. Railroads are a nice walk and a source of inspiration. He aspires to live in the widest window with the best view to the longest and most twisted railroad. Enjoying life and simple things.

Stephane Gallay aka Tajmahal started his music career in 1995 as a label DJ with the legendary TRANS'PACT label in France and as a co-writer with "ASIA 2001". This collaboration resulted in 4 albums, on each of which Tajmahal contributed 3 or 4 tracks. During this period, he was the official label DJ for Trans'Pact and the Asia 2001 band.
After leaving ASIA 2001 in 1998, he started his own career, organising trance parties in Lyon, France and also became label DJ for Chaos Unlimited (UK). At Chaos Unlimited he worked in an A&R role and also created compilations. These experiences drove him to create his own label and so "Electrik Dream" was born in 2005 with him as label manager.
These days Tajmahal divides his time between chillout psychill downtempo projects and progressive psy morning goa trance.   
He is currently working with Alba on a new project called "Medicine Men Song". They are preparing a double-sided project: one side will be for the opening stages on a main floor with a real Ethnic Tribal Goa Psy Trance live set. The second live act is dedicated to the alternative and chill out stage; look out for their music in the festival season next summer.
The last years have been productive for him: he and his friend Kurtz Mindfields released a tribute album to the Berlin School period for all analogue synth lovers called Analogic Touch - From Berlin School to Electronica Ambient.
He is also working on a Chill Out Ethnic project "UASCA" in collaboration with his friend Fluxo from Portugal...
Uasca is a tribal ambient / downtempo project featuring spiritual chants from Peruvian ayahuasca priests, which were collected on site by Tajmahal when he visited them in October 2009 and March 2012. 
Uasca is a tribute to the ancient tribal knowledge of the Amazon.
They started working on their debut album "COSMOS UMBILICAL" in early 2009 and released it in May 2018. 9 years of love in one album.
Taj is becoming well known for his long ambient uptempo psychill dj sets.
His style is fluid and deep: his music tells the story of his feelings. As a DJ, he combines impeccable technical skills with a broad, eclectic musical knowledge and immense creativity: he is famous for telling a story and taking the crowd every step of the way to enlightenment.
These days DJ Tajmahal he's happy to come and play some Retro Goa music DJ set as he has the secret. He also plays some ASIA 2001 retro set as a tribute as an ex-member of this mythical band.

My Muisc interests are most often drawn towards down tempo; Ambient, Trip hop, Glitch Hop, Dub, Psy Dub, Electronic, World tribal, TechHouse, Minimal, and Breakbeat. I started playing music experimenting with different genres and layering them with tones, and frequencies I used in my sound therapy project Alchemixed which first inspired me to start, it has evolved from that into playing more types of music. 

Alchemixed is a project of collections of mixes from different genres that  I began layering healing tones and frequencies into. with many types of things from Tibetan Monk Chants, the Sound of The Shri Yantra, the healing Solfeggio Tones, Crystal Signing Bowls, Whales and Dolphins, Nature samples, vibrations of color spectrum , and the recordings of NASA's Voyager I and II Space Probes - Passing the planets in our solar system.
      
      the intention, or goal is to offer music that is enjoyable  to listen to, and give exposure to tones and frequencies that are widely unheard of, for most people. These are potent sounds that each have their valuable effects on the listener. The more you listen the more you will hear. Most are gentle tones and familiar sounds from nature and animals, to vibrations of colors, even sounds from space though unknown feel warm, and familiar, I love weaving these tones and frequencies together with other sounds, and music to create soundscapes, I feel It gives the listener a chance to focus on many different layers of the sounds, or to just let your subconscious receive the tones and frequencies.  Helping you relax and enjoy as it guides you through the music like a journey. Doing this allows you to listen to them easier and longer, as some of these tones and frequencies are high pitched and can be hard to listen to for extended amounts of time. Where I believe their benefits truly lay. 
  
  The hope of me putting them up here is to try and generate feedback for this project. So I'm interested in hearing what everyone thinks about them as this project has been and evolutionary process for me, and is pretty experimental. So please let me know your thoughts on them.
