SWEET DAY IN THE LAKE OF RAGE

Dedicated to Kate’s healing, may this hummingbird song assist a speedy recovery. 

At the end of the day, when crickets begin their chorus, a chattering of hummingbirds vie for a last taste of nectar before sleepytime.

A variation on 4-chord construction at 1 4 3 7 intervals, using Trip Hop and Pop beats with acoustic tracks of piano and steel guitar, electric bass, and electronic synth. Very relaxing @ 60 BPM for that meditative creative wavelength in the alpha-theta zone.

Hummingbird Twilight

Piece inspired by romanticism in the city: love within concrete walls, poetry beneath artificial light...

Three vocal parts (translated lyrics below) became in very different moods in the songwriter phase, so I couldn't fit them in the same tempo. Working hard on transitions, I got the following solution:

Intro: ad libitum
A: 6/4 & 5/4 at 147bpm
B: 4/4 at 220bpm
C: 4/4 at 293bpm

Such ABC pattern is repeated twice, structured with some city scenes, and 2nd 'C' part includes a guitar soloing lesson by https://soundcloud.com/paco-ray, old friend of mine, technical consultor and personal luthier ;)

This song is the brainchild of Artur, who composed it on his guitar perfectly for collaboration, and presented it to us with his vision for the entire sound. Ken went first, of course, adding his signature rocking beat to the song. I went next, as soon as Ken had laid down the drums, adding my four string fretless bass sound to fill out the rhythm section. 
  Tez came along soon after me, adding some foundational ornamentation with his guitar. JJ jumped in right after Tez, and laid in the majestic organ, riffing electric piano, and subtle synth you hear throughout. Finally, Stephen laid his guitar in there, too, which can be heard as a fiery melodic line running throughout. At Artur's suggestion, he also added some amazing, trippy sitar in a couple of spots, too.
  Once all the tracks were laid down, Stephen came through with his always skillful mix. This makes almost an album worth of material that The Eclectic Collective has created from Artur's ideas. We're always excited when he drops a new one in our laps. He wrote this on a sweet rainy day in the Polish summer. 
  We hope you enjoy listening to this as much as we enjoyed creating it.

Sweet Rainy Day (Eclectic Collective with Surfers Like Us)

Firstly I would like to say, all those suffering with Psoriatic arthritis .. I TOTALLY GET IT !!!!  I had my first flare up a few months back and it stopped me dead in my tracks !!!! . I could'nt open a tin of beans never mind play anything. Luckily I got my shot (which made me feel like I was 20 again) which lasted long enough for the medication to kick in and now things seem to have calmed down a great deal. fingers crossed !!!
I started tracking this one about 4 months ago but never got it finished. FINALLY its finished I hope you all enjoy it. Just somthing easy going to get started again.
