The grinding acid assemblage of the best cuts from NYC's biggest Electro label on this their retrospective comp, is speckled with unreleased goodies and tracks from as far back as 96. Prepare yourself for heavy , bass-driven electro. This ain't no minimal experimental album. Even breaks heads will love tracks like Scape Ones "Android robotics," while Decals "From the Inside" can do some serious dance floor damage. An emotional ride with EMS's "Take my Time" takes the edge off of the overall acid feel of this album. Remember your squatting days in that abandoned industrial site? This was your Soundtrack!

Dark Vektor - Salimos de Noche

Carl has been writing and recording music since 1986 but his first real record involvement was co writing and producing Moments of Inertia by Circle City on Warp in 1993. After a year or so working with Leeds indie band The Bridewells and culminating in an album with them recorded in Roxy Music's studio, he settled down into writing and producing dance music. In 1994 he and DJ Ralph Lawson set up 2020 Vision Records, producing deep house flavours of their own as Wolf and Flow and under his own solo guise of Random Factor, remixing artists from around the globe including Blaze, Josh Wink, Superman Lovers and Fatboy Slim. His solo work is heavily electro tinted, reflective of the Kraftwerk era but owing as much to the likes of Drexciya, Prince, Depeche Mode and Yello. During the mid 90s he teamed up with SCSI founder Daz Quayle and wrote under the name Scarletron and also as Black Labs with two releases on Thomas Heckmann's Trope Recordings around 1995. Working under the names of Random Factor (2020 Vision) Voice Stealer (Subvert) and more recently Silicon Scally (SCSI, Satamile) he has released music on labels including Warp, Fuel, Playhouse, Paper, Trope, Sony, Klang, Arista, Soma, Pagan and Minifunk. He is also a keen remixer in his own right, having reworked tracks by 2 Lone Swordsman, Luke Slater, Swayzak, Dave Tipper and Alexi Delano. 2002 saw the release of the critically acclaimed Mr. Machine album on SCSI recordings. In 2003 the combined EP's on Device Entertainment Recordings were released as the album Electrilogy+ under his real name, Carl A Finlow. Shortly after this release, he moved to Paris.

For our next physical release, FERMA proudly welcomes Fragedis. A driving force in the local underground for over two decades, Fragedis is renowned for his eclectic, genre-blending, DJ sets and productions. Staying loyal to the craft and deeply committed to the culture, he is also co-hosting Healthy Summer in Crete, one of Greece’s most revered festivals for authentic rave culture.

This release features six tracks that perfectly encapsulate FERMA’s sound identity and forward-thinking vision. The A-side opens with “Teras”, an atmospheric piece with immersive vocals that lay the foundation for the journey ahead. “Thrust Reverse” cranks up the intensity with industrial-driven arpeggios, primed to ignite the dancefloor. Closing out the first side is a stripped-down reprise of “Teras”, reimagined by a legendary artist who has shaped the Athenian industrial sound - true name strictly confidential.

Flipping to the B-side, “Live in Lies” drifts into deeper territory, weaving atmospheric pads and trancey synth sequences for introspective, eyes-down moments. Bringing it all home, “Fasaries” delivers an electro spinoff that rounds out the release’s sonic character and journey.

Physical wasnt enough and "Body Pressure" has been added in the mix as a digital bonus :)

The return of ELECTRO MUSIC COALITION affiliate sin:it:sin with his new EP Obsolete Technology picks up where his previous EMC release left off — delving deeper into melodically expressive, narratively rich arrangements that inject new substance into the genre and contribute to shaping a gold standard for club-oriented ELECTRO.

Infoseek continues the EP’s commitment to layered structures. It opens with a simple synth riff, soon joined by a crisp break-kick and a second melodic line. A low-pitched acid line adds a shadowy tint, while the main melody undergoes subtle development. With its lack of overt accents, Infoseek comes across as smooth, airy, and refined.

Once again, the release demonstrates the composer’s ingenuity. These deeply thought-out works form a complete and coherent whole, resisting the trends of melodic minimalism while, in some ways, bringing the listener back to the genre’s roots — to the art of full-bodied, structured arrangement.

Electro , what is it, and its  history with Satamile Records. Almost everyone in electronic music has heard of 
Kraftwerk, and it really was these Germans that set the DNA for which the genre of Electro would spawn in the years to follow. Electro during this time in the USA was more breakbeat oriented with a multitude of them coming out of NY, and later Hip Hop (much slower tempo) spawned partially from Electro. Much of the main inspiration came from Kraftwerk during its US tour at this time, early eighties. This DNA consisited of some certain defining charachteristics such as, Synthesizers, Sequencers, vocoders of which at this time were all analog. For gear, think Roland-909,808,606 (little electro firecracker), Oberheim, Doepfer, Juno-106 and Akai samplers. Another main characteristic to define Electro  was its heavy endeavor to Science Fiction or "into the future" characteristics.  Its important not to confuse Electro with Synth Pop, New Wave , Industrial or breaks, these are all seperate genres defined by their own unique DNA and fans  (Ecspecially Electro House, and ElectroClash, both of which are not Electro).  So in short, think pop-in and lock-in robots, on the Enterprise as they break it down for their head-spins into the future Galaxy. 

Satamile Records was born out of the Rave scene of the very early 90's, which in itself had qucikly adopted the Electro genre for the rave Events giving a boost and creation of countless Electro labels, that only released Electro. We are sort of a new Electro or hybrid electro is some case's taking the best from the past and creating a bigger and fuller sound for the times.  We also really owe alot to Ravers and Promoters during this time,  for their open minds ,DIY ethic and sharp foresight into "Whats Hot". It was these pioneers that supported so many new underground genres, such Breaks, Techno, Electro
Tekhouse, Dubtek (Minimal) and Ambient (IDM) and NOT the major label executives in their cushy offices so you  really have to give a bow to the first wave of ravers and the promoters,,,the best music entrepreneurs of their time. Many labels today simply would not exist today if these people did not support the music and the politics of Law did not stop these events from happening. 

In our early years Satamile was will on the way with its involvement in Electronic music production and live performance .  We were a consistent presence in the NY underground scene and alternative Club scene. Performing live with Modulars and drummachines, Dj'ing, throwing events, sponsoring Graphic artist for flyers, all of which re-presented in some way the new electronic culture.  Hosting nights at Filter 14 (Jacky 60), The Cooler, Baktun, The Kitchen, Gas Station, Robots, Open Air, and many more. We have produced over 400 Club events in NY city for artist such as Ellen Alien, ADULT, Monolake, Pole, 
Schematics, Tipper, Mixmaster Morris, Andrew Weatherall, Keith Tenniswood, Mark Broom, Orbital, Keith Tucker, and many more.

Staying true to its nature Satamile allways pressed Vinyl along with its CD release's. Vinyl is a superior medium, and the taste of DJ ' worldwide for its
superb qualities and usability.  We had CD's in the early 90's , but who wanted to play them, when you cold play vinyl instead, it was so much cooler than a 
CD, it spawned Train Spotting, and was far better for dj'ing. Toady most of our vinyl is pressed at Brooklyn Phono, 225,000 pounds per square inch. This is still true for today  so buy vinyl when you can it rules the night waves and you wont have to worry about your computer crashing on Final Scratch. 

Today satamile exist as one of the leading Electro labels in the world with over 25 artist from all around the world on the label it will be coming up on our 60th release shortly.  Along with the main label Satamile we also have sub-labels, Bot and SatRX  to serve different purposes, Bot for downtempo projects, and SatRX for remix's.
