It feels almost unnecessary to introduce Blood of Aza in 2025. Her work has already become a reference point within the experimental electronic scene — redefining how emotion, distortion, and form can coexist in sound.
For us, her story began in 2021–2022, when her SoundCloud edits started to circulate — raw, emotional takes on pop tracks that felt both familiar and completely new. Her reworks of Ariana Grande and Nicki Minaj blurred the line between club energy and confession, setting the foundation for a new kind of intimacy.
Then came “Longing for What Never Existed” — detailed and painfully human. Soon after, her debut EP Beneath Wings refined that vision. The sincere “Barreleye” stands out as a catharsis of emotion and vulnerability — unfolding and collapsing at once. With her debut album I Heard Your Calls, Aza turned inward, exploring grief and saturation — like breathing through something that still hurts.
By 2024, her mixtape Exhibit A expanded her sound completely — forty-nine tracks that blur the line between release and reflection. Playful reinterpretations of Baby Keem and Beyoncé sit beside moments of stillness; the original “Missing from Me” feels like standing alone when there’s nothing left to hold onto but the echo. This project fully captured her instinct not to comfort or to shock, but to reflect things exactly as they are: unfiltered, multifaceted, and deeply human.
For Beats & Bliss, Blood of Aza offers a mix that leans toward the softer side — spacious, focused, and quietly intense. A living, breathing work — deeply felt and fully alive.

“Before making music together, they started by injecting each other with hormones. Drawing inspiration from the deconstructed noise transfem scene, Elie and Astra Octarine formed @ultracute a noise and computer music project using their DIY granulators. A duo of disassembled dolls who are followers of the post-(anti-)club for academic bitches, overly manipulated by FLINTA spaces and pronoun circles, whose tracks represent the destruction of their own confidence. Their first album was released in August on the swiss label Herzkern. Bodily autonomy for all and free Palestine.”

Ultra Cute drop tonight a Realist mix which is not deconstructivist as much as an abolition of anything but the refinding, an assertion of solidity in elision of any containment, reappropriation as a singular personhood in reference. The probability where an internet’s wealth of hyperkinetic and emotive music is matched with the virtuosic destruction availed by computational tools. An everyday ultimacy, where pop music, fidelity and becoming are enacted via an annihilatory euphoria at-hand, made by two artists who shy not from euphoria’s detumescence. This is neither an academic music nor a postmodern one. It is a statement that in the extremity of toolkits and interpretation is discovered that which illustrates labile circumstances and bodies that in an explosion of actuality escape their own definition. ~Definitionally new, but a music that negates such words.
