 The Styx (Greek: Στύξ, literally "Hatred or disgust, especially towards people") is the river that separates the upper world or earth from the underworld or Hades.  The Styx is one of the five rivers of the underworld, the others being the Phlegeton, the Acheron, the Cocytus and the Lethe.  These rivers meet in the center of the underworld in a large swamp, which is sometimes also referred as Styx.

 Charon was the ferryman who, when they wanted to find peace in the realm of Hades, transferred the shadows of the dead across the Styx.  As feather money, the dead were given a coin (obol) in their mouths (although this is sometimes shown in movies with two gold coins on the eyes).

 At the Styx, gods swore their most solemn oaths.  The origin of this lay in the war with the Titans.  The goddess Styx was the first to come to the aid of Zeus in his battle with the Titans.  After the war, Zeus promised that all oaths were to be sworn by the Styx.  A deity who did not keep that vow for certain reasons could not breathe for a year, drink nectar or eat ambrosia, and participate in the deliberations or feasts of the gods for nine years.

Peaceful Hades - My World is Fading Out

I released this track during 3-rd covid lockdown. I had some time to spare so I remade my old track Bassline playground. That one has only one bass sound all the way through, so I found even better one for most of the song (except the riff, which stayed unaltered). 

The structure is simple: riff, verse 1, chorus, verse 2, chorus, riff, chorus. Rhythms are 3. One playing during riff - that one is original, and freshly composed on the spot. Next two are basic techno rhythms, first one in first verse, and second for the rest of song. The only thing that changes in those rhythms is hi-hat. 

Picture is made in Canva, I just throwed in some clipart pics together, but the message is clear, I hope. And with the name of song (warning immediate noise), it kind of suggests a loud and aggressive sound from the very beginning. Song plays only drums and bass, no melody or any other sounds. There's only one drum fill-up, and even that one is at the very end, and the track generally could be labelled as minimalistic too. Happy listening.

"MY FAULT is probably the most personal song I’ve ever written. It's a song about a chapter in my life, a relationship with the highest highs and lowest lows. Being on the road a lot and with music as my number one focus, I've always felt skeptical about being in a relationship and scared of not being able to give myself fully to somebody. I can’t commit and don't fall in love easily, until one time I did.

That relationship was a time of the most intense emotions and memories that shaped a lot of who I am today. It was very real, unlike a lot of things in this world, and it was intense in the best and worst ways. I guess that’s sometimes what happens when you allow yourself to love deeply. 

For a long time after it ended, I felt guilty about not being able to make it work but as time passed, and perspectives changed, I started to see that things weren’t so black and white. In my head I had been subconsciously blaming myself for a long time...but was it really all my fault?

Writing these songs really helped me move on. The first few days i was in LA to write this album, i was really struggling to come up with anything that felt right to me musically. MY FAULT ended up being the first song I wrote for bb u ok? that I felt passionate about, and in a lot of ways it’s the song that really kicked off the album."  - San Holo
