Whilst he's been busy writing and releasing new music over the past year German nu-disco star Tim Bernhardt, aka Satin Jackets, also found time to dig into the vaults to resurrect and remaster an early release, Girl Forever. Originally released back in 2011 this truly is vintage Satin Jackets, synth pads that sway like palm trees in a summer sea breeze, a haunting vocal sample, melodies as cool as a dip in any pool, and a disco beat to take you through the night, all now sounding better than ever.

“Dead Weight” has always been the best way to describe how you feel sometimes, and it is now also the music that calls you to face your inner demons with some sonic fuel behind you. Dead Weight is the deathstep project of Chicago that stands for aggressive catharsis and against self-harm and harming others. With beats and 808s in the vein of Skrillex and Maurauda, energy inspired by Slipknot, and vocals inspired by Napalm Death, Dead Weight fuses the styles of dubstep and death metal to unleash an ominous aggression that bids you to let your emotions run wild and realize how alive you really are.

A musician since age 10 and a producer since 15, Jax started releasing electronic anthems under the alias Dead Weight as a project with a focus dedicated to helping others with music the same way that aggressive music helped him as a teenager. Rather than harm yourself or others, Ollie (the name Dead Weight goes by when the makeup goes on for performance) invites you to let your rage out to Dead Weight, and reminds you that there is no rainbow without the rain!

I’ve been paying it forward my whole life and won’t eva change…. Do shit don’t douche it!!! Evolve not Revolve!!!!! Team Work Makes the Dream Work!!!! What might be considered an obstacle could be a life-altering asset…. Light, love, emotional control and rational introspection is required for the dimensional  transgression of this realm to meld with the kingdom of heaven. Where there’s jealousy there should be inspiration. Let anger and hatred become motivation. Circular retaliation leads only towards darkness and death. Forgiveness and repentance could eventually lead to evolutionary righteous collaboration.
 


Metallica-bob Marley-pink Floyd-great full dead-The ALLMAN BROTHERS BAND-Hip Hop/DNB/Breaks-RnB influenced electronic/house. From my first (of dozens) Allman Brothers show in 96’ til I Landed flat broke a few years ago.  Amphitheater lots, venues, “raves”, festivals,  were my second home.  Any  talented live music I could find was a reason to get out of town. The list is endless with pretty much no limit on genres.  Xcept country. I was a B-boy with Differential Flava Crew from the inception til 03’ when I left Buffalo.  My kids have more exposure to music in five years than I had in 20……. I’ll never forget the first time I saw Z-Trip at bonoroo 2002 and was jaw dropped. Roger Watters, another unforgettable show, and front and center for my fav MC Chali 2na at small venues in Humboldt…… The only good thing about COVID was bringing DJ’s to social media…….. Unfortunately I have this problem of ending up in places with shitty service………  Only I’m America
