Neurolabz is the musical project of French producers and friends Stephane Rey and Thomas Marche. After experimenting in their own genre for years under their solo alias Naolabz and Neuronod, they decided to join forces and benefit from their similar approach to music, sound design and ambiences to create Neurolabz in 2015. Focused on futuristic and twisted dark progressive, their music is deep, groovy, hypnotic and widely inspired by science-fiction, space exploration, movies and TV-Shows, inviting the listener to dive into always evolving journeys. This exclusive mix is showcasing their new debut album "Outer Wilds".

This was the first djset I uploaded to Soundcloud and it was to conmemorate my fresh joining to Occulta Records, my first ever label. But it was banned due to copyrights in 2013. I disputed the claim but the set never came back online. So, after all these years, and after listening to it again a few weeks ago, I decided to upload it, as it is full of really favourite tracks of mine from almost 10 years ago. It's definitely a legacy djset that deserves to be among the rest. Enjoy!!

Recording of my DJ set from xXETEXx night at Hammahalle (Sisyphos), where I played from 04 to 07 on Sunday, 4.12.2022. and shared the stage with Josephine Wedekind, Herrmann Stöhr and Aka Nina. 

From my post, published on 23rd November:

"Rhetorical question. Did you know that for every story you share (with disgust, pleasure or disdain) about the success of a female producer / DJ in the scene that is based only or mostly on good looks, you ignore the majority of women on the scene. Women who have built their careers and success, apart from their good looks, only on persistence, hard work, quality, a good ear and excellent selection and technique. It is time that, in addition to insisting on gender equality, we also talk about the negative approach and attitude we have. 

With great pride, honor and happiness I will share the DJ booth with three women with a capital W who have made me dance, cheer up and laugh on more than one occasion."

All the love of this world goes to my friends - your love, kindness and support means everything to me.

A special greeting goes to my dear friend @lilianstark without him this recording would not exist.

Respect and gratitude to the people I shared the dancefloor with that night and my vision of music during part of it.

My heart goes to Madchester Monster, S.H. You are an inspiration and motivation. I wish I could spend a day in the beautiful brain of yours just to see what the world looks like from your perspective. My love for you is unworldly and will exist forever, even if/when love takes us apart.

The creatures of the night emerge and the forest floor begins to shake as Saru hits the decks with her signature style of dark psychedelia. 

Obscure & funky, a cerebral blast from the cutting edge of sonic experimentation, telling stories through highly detailed and textured tracks, setting dancefloors on a wild ruckus of a ride.

Saru started her electronic music journey with techno until she discovered psytrance in 2012 at Boom Festival on an unexpected adventure in Portugal.

The level of immersiveness of the event made a big impression on her, and she decided to get involved with the scene once she was back in Montreal, Canada, where she was living at the time for her studies. 

She delved deep into this microcosm, and a year and a half later bought her first CDJs and started practicing and playing at house parties and after parties until making her first formal gig in the fall of 2014, which led to many more in Montreal and around. 

Since then she’s had the opportunity to play across North & South America, all over Europe (back to her roots) and some of the Asian and African continents. 

Every new crowd and place feeling like an exciting learning experience and opportunity for connection, her love for the music has only been growing and refining ever since!
