Ed Lofstedt is a Bristol-based songwriter who released his second EP 'sweep me away' in 2017, recorded with a supergroup of local musicians like Pictures of Belgrade, Iceman Furniss Quintet and Cécile.

The core of that group - The Ed Lofstedt Assembly - are a four-piece band who play high energy melodic folk-pop with thrilling dynamic shifts and sweeping crescendos.

Ed's songs are touched with the melodrama of Sufjan Stevens, Guy Garvey and Justin Vernon; big-hearted, melodic, and wry. 

Ed channels electronica and post-rock through his folk songs, drawing in spellbinding stagecraft and bewitching lyrics. 

Formerly of Oxford and Reading, he is a regular to BBC Introducing shows.
