At the heart of this track, the VSTs Spire and Dune 3 weave an intricate tapestry of sound, producing melodies that dance effortlessly above the solid foundation laid by Kick 2. Serum, with its expansive sonic capabilities, adds layers of depth, creating an atmosphere that's both haunting and invigorating.

The distinct character of "Sushi", however, is brought to life by the hardware it employs. The enigmatic tones of the Arturia Microfeak merge seamlessly with the rich textures of the Novation Mini Nova, crafting a backdrop that's ethereal yet grounded. The inclusion of the Behringer TD3 is a masterstroke, infusing the track with classic acid 303 elements that provide a nostalgic nod, paying homage to techno's illustrious past.

The influences of techno maestros Anyma and Tale of Us are palpable. Their hallmark atmospheric touches and deep, resonating rhythms have been harmoniously integrated, ensuring "Sushi" is not just another track, but an experience—a journey that carries listeners across vast sonic landscapes. And driving this journey forward is the track's commanding bassline; fat, robust, and undeniably catchy, it serves as the anchor, grounding the ethereal elements while propelling listeners into a state of trance.

Slow build up set that progressively evolves into faster and energetic driving sounds with rolling kicks and basslines. Some Trippy elements and a hypnotic touch. 
Slighty messed it up halfway as beatmatching 3 to 4 tracks at the same time on DDJ1000 got quite complicated due the fact not having multiple seperated decks, but instead had to use the switch button to shift back and forth through the decks 1&3 and 2&4. But no excuses, overall content with the end result. Enjoy! And let me know whaf lt you think of it.

Selamat datang! Welcome thanks for tuning in=). This is the 6th mix of the Podcastmix series based upon my Moluccan roots.
Sharing a part of the background aswell & exploring my roots. 

This mix portrayes the feel of homesick, something my grandfather had during his lifetime. Due the fact being forced leaving Ambon for his safety aswell for his entire familly. 
After the fall of the Dutch rule over the East-Indies on the 27th of December 1949. Aprox 2000 Moluccas were shipped to The Netherlands to protect and prevent them being captured by the Japanese Regime. At that time Japan had taken over the controll and rule over Indonesia. The background story can be found in the 1st Moluccan-Roots podcastmix series.

My grandfather lived with his familly at Ambon-Nusaniwe a district/town close to the shore of Banda sea in the pacific ocean.
Ambon is a small Island in the southearn part of the Moluccan between the Islands Buru & Ceram.

Unfortunatly didn't got the chance to meet him in person as he passed away too soon at an early age in 1984 long before i was born. But by stories and insights of my Moluccan side of the family. It was clear to me that the subject of leaving Ambon was a closed book. 
Would've really wanted to know how it was and hear his story and memories of it. To get to know more about my roots. 
But he kept his pain and memories to himself and never wanted to talk about the subject ever again, as my Aunts&Uncles said when the question came up. 

My quess is that he wanted to keep his pain & missery hidden. Just so that he could be there strong for his familly with the mentallity of life goes on and start a new chapter of his life here in The Netherlands. Even though he never felt at home but adapted and excepted the situation.

After the liberation of Indonesia, He visited his homecountry two times. At the last trip (his condition was already declining) he couldnt hold it in and said he finally felt at home again there at Ambon-Nusaniwe. Soon after this 2nd visit time&vacation at Ambon my Granddad passed away in '84.

This mix is in memorial and ode to my Granddad. Calling it Pulang [Pulang/ /// /Means " going" home].

"In the point of view as speaking purely as a dj and not (yet) a producer. Its not about the tracks, but its how and in which way to use them. Even though the tracks aren't your productions its your Select&connecting process which will define a styleform/sound that will make it your "own". But most importantly something that will leave an impression or an impulse, happy thoughts or that deep rhythm from within that makes the groove that will make the crowd move and dance too". But its all about preference and taste. Respecting every style & genre regardless of my own preferences.  
Style wise/mixing can be described as funk groove sometimes trippy and hypnotic. Aiming for a groovy club oriented dancefloor vibe.
