Coming in on Atish & Mark Slee's new San Francisco label Manjumasi, Brian Cid returns with another standout EP.

Brian, who runs his own Extinct Records imprint, straddles many musical worlds and has in fact worked for the likes of Beyonce, Cher and Lady Gaga as a master mix engineer. His real love is house though, and he has already had Todd Terry chasing after his beats for his In-house Records. He has also impressed with outings on Nervous and Toronto’s microCastle and now marries New York vibes with fresh house sounds on this latest effort, "Hidden".

Today, we premiere Jon Charnis' remix of 'Hidden,' as the Innervisions associate brings a soothing, slick, and slow burning version, sucking you in with gently undulating drums and jumbled percussion as well as long, sweeping chords.

Real Name, No Gimmicks.

In late 2015, Luca’s debut “Situations” first saw the light of day on Feines Tier. The EP was a whimsical fusion of his Hip-Hop roots with electric rhythms and mesmerizing boogie. Now, with his forthcoming third solo record “Proper Preaching”, he comes full circle.

Musto returns with a blend of handmade instrumental sound by his fellow musicians and that special dash of his notorious intricate groove. 
The record takes the listeners on a spiritual ride of revelations and hidden messages. Simultaneously, the four tracks deal with philosophical issues by telling stories of morality in “Lucy’s Intension,” the ambitions in “State of Grind” and “Lie To Me,” and finally faith in “Proper Preaching.”

All of this is merged together by the use of samples as well as Luca’s own recordings of words and atmospheres. Finally, the bigger picture is revealed, fueled by the eloquent subtext and the memory of the ones he lost.

Outside traditional paths these driving grooves and polyphonic structures take the adventure seeking dancer to Dionysian highs and places never been before. Things rolled along this way peacefully for about a month or more. 

The neighborhood appealed to me, particularly at night when the full squalor and lugubriousness of it made itself felt. The little place, so charming and tranquil at twilight, could assume the most dismal, sinister character when darkness came on. There was that long, high wall covering one side of the barracks against which there was always a couple embracing each other furtively-often in the rain. A depressing sight to see two lovers squeezed against a prison wall under a gloomy street light: as if they had been driven right to the last bounds. 

What went on inside the enclosure was also depressing. On a rainy day I used to stand by the window and look down on the activity below, quite as if it were something going on another planet. It seemed incomprehensible to me. Everything done according to schedule, but a schedule that must have been devised by a lunatic. There they were, floundering around in the mid, the bugles blowing, the horses charging-all within four walls. A sham battle. Only music can relax things a bit and can pleasure my soul. The new EP of Juliano Gomez was my paradise. Three amazing original tracks and two beauty remixes by the likes of Artimpakt &Veytik, Valtierra. This was my small, everlasting paradis

Juliano Gomez - Kharma (Artimpakt, Veytik Remix)[SHANGO RECORDS]

The thirteenth batch of fruits from our fruit orchard have been picked, and are ready to taste.

Vivid EP brings prolific producer and veteran artist Savvas (Anjunadeep) to the orchard. With remixes from equally so respected Gadi Mitrani and Erdi Irmak, who have been making waves on labels like Magician On Duty, Where The Heart Is and Tale and Tone, none of these people are strangers to exploring newer, more immersive sounds.

Greek-born Savvas brings two originals to the table, to taste. "Vivid" and "Falling Into" both build a progressive, well thought out blueprint for the remixes.

The blueprint is taken by Erdi Irmak for "Vivid" who puts some spice onto the track, by gently stripping the original from progressive elements. Instead, it adds percussion, groove and tribal feeling into the piece.

Gadi Mitrani (Tale and Tone) provides the other remix, flooding dreamy, plucky, happy melodies into "Falling Into".

Savvas - Vivid

Greek-based, Chicago-born Savvas is a producer and dj. Way back in time, Savvas came in contact with electronic music in 1992, discovering his preference and talent for deejaying he soon started playing around clubs and open-air parties since the late nineties. He joined forces with Vasilis Giouvris aka Yosebu in 2000 and under the name Acropod they released their first album on Klik records and a few singles and remixes on labels around the globe. 
Nowadays Savvas on his personal path on music with the same passion he had and still has for music, he keeps experimenting with different kinds of sounds and rhythms and starts releasing singles to expand his musical style. 
Deep house, ethereal to abstract, atmospheric to cosmic tunes.

Last but not least, as every artist has numerous faces, Savvas is also under the name Falling Sun http://soundcloud.com/thefallingsun in a more ambient, cinematic music profile.
