hook.

„Dubdrive“ takes a similar route, but uses droning pads combined with synth stabs as main theme.
Finally, „Florescence“ is a great track for the later hours with its emotional melodic progression.

Layered, distorted synth sounds, shifting percussive patterns, a blunt kick drum and fat sub- bass – these are the elements that make up the Goa genre. And it's exactly these elements that Drumcomplex uses in his new track "Goa", released on Simina Grigoriu's Kuukou Records. It's a techno banger nonetheless – a kind of case study of Goa music. It also is an ode to what holds this crazy world together: Music that magically attracts, hypnotizes, and intensifies the experience of being in a human body.

Victor Ruiz's label VOLTA serves up a fantastic EP, this time with Balthazar & JackRock behind the three original tunes. This DJ and producer duo have made a real impact with their tunes on the likes of Drumcode, Terminal M, Plus 8 and Filth on Acid and do so again here.

Solar Deity opens up with grading bass and the sort of raw techno drums that make a whole warehouse march. There is real tension in the synths and a vocal brings the soul. Princess of the Sun is another hard edge banger with synths that sound as if they have been fired from a machine gun. They light up the sky and will get hands in the air. Last of all is Vibrant, another powerful track, this time with loopy and heady synths that will boggle the brain as the glitchy percussion rides on. An epic breakdown features cosmic keys raining down from above before the drop blows the roof off.

This is another superb EP from all.

A couple of months ago, @pfirtermusic organized a remix contest for his track called "Melt". I participated in that competition, but I wasn't successful. Huge congratulations to the winners! After many tests in the club, I decided to give it away as a free download. In the end, Christmas is coming, so treat it as a Christmas gift. ;) Note that this is not an official release and I got direct permission from the artist to make it available in that form.
