One year on since the release of their latest EP, “Rituals”, German flagship duo Township Rebellion returns to SVT with “혼돈 과 질서” (“Chaos and Order” in Korean). Clad in some kind of sci-fi-indebted dystopian - yet no hopeless - scenario, the twofold EP summons ambiguous visions of a world caught in limbo between technologically advanced societies bound to collapse and ambitions for a brighter future through enhanced levels of empathy and understanding that long to surface.  

First is “Chaos”, a slo-blooming roller that steadily swells towards proper club epicness as its arpeggios unfold. Tapping into 80s-laced, Moroder-friendly Italo with a train-like electro-swing for the main conductor, the cut reels out like the soundtrack to a bumpy otherworldly dream where shapes, colours and sounds entangle in a cosmogonic ballet of sorts. Flip sides and here is the steely, yoking counterpart to TR’s free-flowing opener, “Order”. Flexing its metal muscles and giving maximum room to martial kicks and AI-implemented programming, the track reels out like a brooding call-to-arms, merging thunderous echoes with a truly enslaving gridlocked groove.

Weird Sounding Dude is a Bangalore-based music producer/DJ. Drawing his influences from the likes of James Holden, Extrawelt, and Nathan Flake. Weird Sounding Dude's trademark chuggy grooves, squelchy rhythms, and winding melodies are sure to satisfy his listeners but there are always a few surprises along the way.

Life is about evolving and as it happens with a lot of artists, only DJ’ing wasn’t enough for Weird Sounding Dude's musical odyssey, so he embarked on a journey to prove his worth as a self-taught music producer. In a very short span of time, Weird Sounding Dude became a regular on the charts of Beatport, and his music went onto gain continuous support from some of the top renowned artists such as Tony Mcguinness (from Above & Beyond), John Digweed, Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, Guy Mantzur, Guy J, Nick Muir, Marsh, Armen Miran, Lost Desert, Cid Inc., Roy Rosenfeld, Khen and many more.

Weird Sounding Dude continues to make a mark in the underground circuit by having releases on some of the most prestigious record labels in the dance music industry such as Anjunadeep, Sudbeat, The Soundgarden, Hoomidaas, Souksonic, Kindisch, Everything Will be Okay, Plattenbank, meanwhile, Perspectives Digital, Mango Alley, onedotsixtwo, Juicebox Music, Eat My Hat Music, Balkan Connection, 3rd Avenue, Tarnished Tracks, If You Wait Music, Strangers Beats, Strange Town Recordings, Stripped Recordings among many others. Weird Sounding Dude has always enjoyed a place in the underground dance music culture with performances at music festivals such as Sunburn, Satellite Beachside, R.E.S.E.T., La Foresta (Sri Lanka), Ctrl Alt Dance, Krank, Locals District, and played at some of the most celebrated venues across India such as Block 22, Tabularasa-The Bar, Phoniex, Kitty-Ko, PUMA Shuffle, Auro, Leather Bar, Tranqbar amidst many others. Weird Sounding Dude has had the privilege to share the decks with Nick Warren, Sebastien Leger, Mind Against, Jerome Isma-Ae, Stan Kolev, Jimpster, Vaal, Dauwd, BOg, Ziger, Navar, Kastis Torrau to name a few.

Weird Sounding Dude also hosts two radio shows. The first show is called 'sinetone' a monthly curated podcast that airs exclusively on Proton Radio every second Monday of the month. Joel embarked on his DJ journey a decade ago at the iconic Scratch DJ Academy in New York City, learning and cultivating his skills with influential local turntablists. From there, he quickly made waves in Brooklyn's underground scene, refining his sound and movement behind the decks.

As he continued to captivate crowds, his reputation grew,leading to opportunities in renowned music hubs such as New York City,Brooklyn, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Paris, Colombia, and Ibiza. His international experiences have enriched his musical sensibilities, allowing him to create electric atmospheres and undeniable connections between himself and his diverse audiences.

Since 2020, Tulum (MX) has been his home, where he continues to elevate dance floors by spinning records he truly feels. His dynamic journey and commitment to excellence have solidified him as a sought-after DJ in the global music community.
