Toys in the Static is an experimental electronic audio/visual collective based in Columbus, Ohio. Formed in 1997, the music is a process of hardware MIDI and analog devices mixed with live instruments; fusing together psychedelic fantasy music with ambient, jazz, industrial, dance, hip hop/break beat, noise, and improvisation. From 2003-2014 performing live as the band Pinebox.

Because for so many years I crusaded for new instruments with what may have seemed fanatical zeal, I have been accused of desiring nothing less than the destruction of all musical instruments and even of all performers. These accusations were correct.
