Chicago has be blessed with many musical talents that have set a standard in the music industry. As a new generation of dj's begin to move in, Dj So-Real steps forward to take charge. Shivam Thakkar, also known as Dj So-Real, has been known and called Chicago's Very Own Musical Showstopper. This talented young artist has taken Chicago by storm, conquering every club and lounge he steps foot in. 

His appearance, professional. His style, original. His music, show stopping. So-Real has reached this level through many years of experience and dedication. Back when this all star was a child, Shivam embraced music when others would end up playing with toy trucks. Whether singing along to Boys ll Men, or drumming with kitchen wear to random hindi songs, So-Real exposed his musical talents at a very young age. By the time he reached his early teens, he was chosen out of 200 students to be one of the leading percussionists in one of the best drumlines in the nation. At this point, he realized that he wanted to try something new. This is where he looked into the musical styles of a dj.

So-Real began his dj career in 2008, calling himself "Dj XL". As a year passed, he began to receive a wide range of cliental, and began to step foot in the club scene. After one of his performances, he was interviewed and asked as to what defines him as a dj. Shivam replied, " My music and style is original, something that cannot be duplicated. I strive to be the best, and I don't try to be like any other dj. I just try to be myself. That's what makes me different and defines me as a dj, it shows that I'm not fake, i'm real". At this point, he decided to call himself So-Real.

So-Real has been spinning for aproximately 4 years now. He has performed for over 50 venues and well above 50 clients for personal and private events. His recent encounters deals with FDA Chicago and UIC Radio. 

So-Real has spun at many locations across the chicagoland area, including Inferno Lounge, Lux Lounge, Heat Nightclub, Vintage Lounge, Bar Louie, House of Blues, Martini Club, & the W Chicago. 

So-Real has also affiliated with Dj Ruckiss, Dj Jkon, Dj B, Dj Alaadin, Dj Naveen Kumar, Dj Dip Xquisite, and recently with Dj Flipside of B96 at ClubStarz. 


Future Events To Come:: So-Real has many private events coming up, including 3 bookings in Miami, Dallas, and Boston. He has also been affiliating with FDA Chicago for the past few months, and is planning on working with them in the future.

Finally, So-Real has come out with the Next Chapter series. With Part 1 already released early June, the Next Chapter video series will begin on June 8th, 2012, and will continue to run every 2 weeks until the end of September. the Next Chapter part 2 is set to release between end of July and early August.
