SBR Peezyy, born Paris Cooper, is a Detroit artist raised on the city’s west side. One of nine siblings, he turned to music after losing a brother to gun violence and stepping away from a promising basketball career due to injury. With early exposure to music through his family’s basement studio, Peezyy began writing raps as a form of therapy and self-expression. His unique sound stands out from Detroit’s current wave, reflecting a broader range of influences. On June 13, he’s dropping his latest single, “Show You What It’s Like,” along with a music video that showcases his evolving style and story.
