Captain Mustache is a French music producer and DJ from Paris.

Since 2020, he made releases on some of the greatest labels of the scene: Kompakt, Exploited, Mobilee, Permanent Vacation, Helena Hauff's Return To Disorder, and a full album on John Digweed's Bedrock Records, with a constant support from the best DJ's in the world.

As a true Electronic music lover, he worked with some Electro idols (Dave Clarke, Chicks on Speed, Adamski, The Advent, Paris The Black Fu, Keith Tucker from AUX88...) to bring an extra vocal dimension to his music.

Inspired by 80's pioneers, Detroit techno and Electroclash freaks, we can define his sound as romantic & burlesque.

Ravenscoon Presents: In The Nest With iSorin on Ravenscoon Radio EP: 015

Today we are featuring Wisconsin Wave phenom iSorin, one of my all time favorite producers.

His early influences were mainly hip hop producers such as Timbaland, Dr. Dre, and the Neptunes. After discovering early UK bass music acts such as Skream, Plastician, and Burial, he shifted his focus to work on bass music. As the bass music sound started to evolve in many directions, iSorin drew a lot of influence from innovators such as RL Grime, Seven Lions, and Xilent, and credits those artists as inspiration in taking his music to the next level. 

As of 2018, iSorin has found success in producing wave/hardwave, with releases on labels such as Vibe.Digital, LiquidRitual, Terrorythym, Electric Hawk Records, Ophelia, Imminent Collective, among others. He
currently produces in a wide range of genres including wave, drum and bass, trap, and ambient.

Over the past 8 years or so we have had, along with Theo Parrish, the honour of playing the monthly residencies at a small basement club in Shoreditch, London with an impeccable sound system. After 20 years of operation, it was time to move on and close the doors on a place that has a lot to answer for in shaping modern club culture. To say this space along with the owner Ade’s singular vision was fundamental in our personal musical formation would be a complete understatement. 
 
On the day of their closing, manager Charlotte asked us if we’d put the system through its paces for the last time that the club would be open to the public. We set about packing the anthems from our respective residencies and on the night once the people were through the doors played 2 records in turn for the rest of the dance. We included tracks of our own and of friends that were made with that place in mind. Records like Daphni - Ye Ye and Four Tet - Pinnacles were made to first be played at Kieran’s nights there, and the Floating Points - Vacuum EP was born out of the CD-R night at the club, and its launch party was the trigger for Sam’s monthly residency.
 
We set this recording up just before the start of the night and unfortunately it distorts in places, but we make no apology for how joyfully noisy people get! The vibe in the room this night was typical of the club on any given night and we hope this recording captures just a fraction of the spirit of a Plastic People night.
 
A massive thank you from us to everyone that has come down to the nights over the years and supported our music there. We are truly humbled to have shared the music we love with people at this place, and your energy in turn has influenced the way we make music on an unfathomable scale. We also thank the bosses Charlotte Kepel and Ade Fakile for inviting us to the club and having faith in us over  these years! All the best for the future!

Phil Asher has been one of the residents of SunSplash Festival over the last 7 years, during which time he has graced our beach parties and club sessions with nothing less that pure class. Whether the occasion calls for good time party tracks, or something deep, moody, broken beat, mellow or cutting edge, few DJs can delve into as wide a spectrum of good music and present it with such natural ability and flair. As far as we are concerned Phil Asher is nothing short of house music royalty, but house music is just the beginning.
