Singularly the elements that make up North Phase are impressive, collectively they are devastating. Between them, Burnski and Robert James have covered a lot of ground musically and they bring to the table some serious skills. Years of experience behind the decks and in the studio has allowed the pair to flex a focused sound brimming with the most outrageous breakbeats, speaker-busting basslines and just the right amount of vocals to cut through the mist.

Saying all this about their past means we haven’t even touched on their current output as North Phase. This is where we find the pair on their mix for our InSession series and Robert James’ Body Movement imprint has given them the platform from which to launch their weaponised dancefloor bangers.

The culture of cycling—from the 90s to today—served as a major muse, merged with electronic sounds influenced by many of my favorite musicians. The result is a fusion of inspirations reflecting both the landscapes traveled and the evolving sonic ideas along the way.
