He wields his particular brand of wry observations and cutting humor over well layered production that is simultaneously thumping yet weightless. A wholly absorbing and intimate affair, there is a sense of wonder drawn from its stillness. Here is a way out. Here is a way in. The records brims with righteous anger, uncompromising joy and the haunting refrain of a man who understands that his politics are personal when he intones, "don’t stop running if you don’t see me ahead."
