Steve Lorenz is the guy you ll have to look for in the next months. He 
works around many musical influences. The first track « Overclock » 
evolves into fat basses, bursted kicks & percussions. 
 
"Overclock" remix, operated by Damon Wild international acclaimed 
and legendary Synewave boss label (Joe Beltram/ Jeff Mills / Adam 
Beyer…), results in an energic deeper techno, mental beats & dubby 
influences, a mind blast ! 
 
The third track « Viraga » keeps the finest line. Industrial noises & 
subliminal female voices are twisting in speakers & surely ll keep your 
head !  Close your eyes & start the journey. 
 
Closing the race, « Viraga » remix was realized by narrow friend Kane Roth 
(Smallroom / Lessismore), south french producer who recently moved to 
Berlin. Her production means well being quality, there's no coincidence 
if she has been remixed by Maetrik & Monoloc some months ago. 
Keeping essential elements of the original "Viraga", she dropped a 
muscle main floor edit ! Hands up !

Synonymous with Detroit, Techno, and Tresor, Scan 7 have remained protagonists of the Berlin-Detroit axis since it was first forged in the sweaty obsidian of the club’s original Wertheim vault home. Now, over 20 years later, the masked techno collective pay tribute to the triptych’s matted histories on ‘The Resistance EP’.

With identifiable nods to Scan 7’s Underground Resistance affiliations – the label that launched the group, and whose militaristic and political philosophies can be found littered throughout their discography – the EP begins with quintessential Detroit strings and groove before delving into darker techno territory. On the A-side, “The Resistance” offers an uplifting and delightfully nostalgic jaunt through dance music past, using all those favourite and immortal house tropes to deliver instant gratification. Meanwhile, the B-side shows off Scan 7 as masters of warm, yet shadowy techno – plus their trademark drum work – in the hypnotic “Why Not?” and driving, basement-ready “In & Out Of The Groove”. 

Alongside many outings on Tresor’s renowned compilation series, Scan 7 produced two albums for the label – ‘Dark Territory’ in 1996, followed up by ‘Resurfaced’ in 1999 – before leader TrackMasta Lou’s Cratesavers Muzik took over as the group’s primary recording outlet. ‘The Resistance EP’ is a welcomed return to Tresor from one of its stalwart artists, and paves the way for a retrospective compilation on 20 years of Scan 7, due out at the close of the year.

Thalstroem & Grambow

With vintage keyboards, trumpets and quite a bit of digital finesse, their new electronic live set of Thalstroem & Grambow is not only wonderfully atmospheric but also highly impulsive.

Thalstroem, best known for his participation in the AKA AKA live sets, creates energetic beats and supplements them with delicate and longing trumpet sounds.
Grambow, producer and keyboarder of the electronic band LAN as well as co-founder of the label SugarCandyMountain, provides warm, vibrating harmonies and dreamy synthesizer sounds.

Thalstroem and Grambow first met in 2001 in Amsterdam, where both studied Jazz at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Through a collaboration with the DJ-Collective WIckedJazzSounds (NL) they soon discovered their interest in combining live instruments with electronic music. In 2005 Thalstroem and Grambow moved to Berlin and founded the electronic band LAN. Several releases on SugarCandyMountain followed. In 2009 Thalstroem became part of the AKA AKA live formation and co-wrote/co-produced their album „AKA AKA and Thalstroem – Varieté“ which was released on Burlesque Musique in 2011. Together with them, he also released remixes on Defintion Records, Natura Viva, and Jackmode, just to name a few.

Thalstroem and Grambow are currently working on their debut. Look out for their first release in spring 2013!
