The past three years have taken Wiwek Mahabali from the bedroom in the Dutch
town of IJsselstein, where he first started making beats, to the upper echelon of the DJ
world. The engine powering his journey is a sound he calls “jungle terror,” a frenetic
pileup of trap music, tribal house, Indian polyrhythms and exotic animal calls that’s
captured the imagination of dance music fans around the world.

Wiwek takes a look back at this precipitous climb with his first compilation, Jungle Terror Saga,
on fellow boundary-pushing, Dutch DJ/producer duo Yellow Claw’s label Barong
Family. Jungle Terror Saga collects some of Wiwek’s personal favorite tracks from his trilogy
of Jungle Terror EPs, including the club hits “Riot” and “Boomshakatak,”.  Plus three
new cuts: “Laile Laile (feat. 44)” adds industrial clang to the jungle terror equation
and “Rodman” finds him teaming up with Dutch duo Dirtcaps to amp up the ragga
influence, while “Jungle Matrix” appears destined to become the next entry on
Wiwek’s growing list of arena-sized anthems.

Jungle Terror Saga  is the perfect jumping-off point for dance music fans looking to catch up
with one of the most exciting sounds to hit the genre in years. But Wiwek’s main
motivation behind the release is to create something special for the legion of die-hard
fans who’ve flocked to his music. On top of being released through all the major
digital streaming platforms, the “Jungle Terror bible” (as he calls it) will also be
Wiwek’s first vinyl release, available as a deluxe limited edition LP on purple vinyl to
serve as a souvenir commemorating his journey so far, and a launch pad for the next
phase for one of dance music’s most exceptional artists.

You’d be hard pushed to find bigger debuts for tracks than at Ultra Miami, but getting three dropped across the weekend by both Axwell/\Ingrosso and a reunited Swedish House Mafia is dream factory levels.
