This is a super sic remix of the second track on my Against The Odds Of Entropy album, "At Home In The Dark," by my friend https://soundcloud.com/keithsweaty.  I have loved Keith's productions and remixes ever since we met back in San Diego's electronic music scene around 2008 when I was doing Inspired Flight and he was doing his Jamuel Saxon project.  We have always wanted to work together, and while you will likely see a 9 Theory x Keith Sweaty original collab later in the year, for now having him remix this track was a perfect way to get things going. There is an immediately noticeable shift in mood from the last time we checked in with S. Carey. He was heavy-hearted on 2022’s Break Me Open — crestfallen and reckoning after a big love lost. And so, Watercress sets us off with the ringing of hard-won hope. It is in fact only in the clear, shallow waters that watercress grows. And these are the very places that Sean Carey the human being returns to again and again — to fish, to reflect, and to grow. Seasons have passed and he’s spent time healing in the water, flowing and still. The pieces have been collected and reassembled. Of course, there’s always going to be a wistful quality to S. Carey’s music. But here, it’s the bright, crisp October morning kind of wistful.

Music from the Mezzanine is the musical hub of Fox and Baby Cass (SJADO). 

MFTM was started in an effort to allow dj’s and selectors to be creative and explore a different side of their musical repertoire that they’d be unable to share in a regular club setting. We’d also like MFTM to be a tool for the audience to find and connect with local and international talent in the hope of bringing people together through music.
