French artists Massai and Lamalice's joint project Smooth Operator has been bubbling under for some time now with previous outings on Anthea’s Partisan imprint their studio credentials speak for themselves. Singularly, the pair have been quite influential in the direction of the French electro scene with their involvement in Sentaku servicing pretty much all of the clubs and festivals in France and beyond a slice of their symbiotic energy. tunnel’s first release is here! Lunchbreak in Mitte EP comes from the mind and machines of our friend Pierre Marty : a refreshing take on house music, with 4 classy tunes full of groove and emotion that will perfectly match your summer moods.

For the three of us, each of these tracks holds precious memories. From witnessing Pierre’s inspired and tumultuous creative process, to the first time we heard them loud in his live set at Le Chant des Oiseaux last summer, before we in turn play them in our own sets… They formed the soundtrack to our friendship over the last year in Berlin and rocked the birth of our label, as we met every week for a cosy lunch break in Mitte.

On Saturday, May 21, 2023, Felipe Valenzuela delivered a live performance at Club Der Visionäre. This event was particularly significant as it was organized during a challenging period for Valenzuela, following the loss of his mother, with May 21 being her birthday. Friends of Valenzuela had been highlighting the impressive work he was producing in the studio despite his isolation. They encouraged the organization of this performance to share his creations with a wider audience. AirFunk decided to release it on a first special edition record—experience the heartfelt music that emerged from this poignant moment.
