PVC-resident V:SONNTAG is an excellent match for our Connwax Selected series: Almost every day she spends time on researching newer and older music, her biggest joy being just listening and diving into moods. She’s particularly fascinated by the versatility of atmospheres and emotions techno can express. On one hand, she loves „fast, playful, sexy and groovy techno, that might at times contain acid or psy elements“, making the audience sweat and have a blast. On the other hand she likes techno on the darker side, which she can lose herself in. While preparing for this podcast V:SONNTAG envisioned a particular setting, that she’s been missing dearly during the past 1 1/2 years: „During my preparations I had Trakt 1 at Institut für Zukunft in mind and felt like recreating its vibe by playing a hypnotic, forceful mix on the faster range of techno“. Not confined to studio mastery alone, Maasym has taken his sonic prowess to international dancefloors, leaving a trail of awe-struck audiences in his wake. At "KALT Club" in Strasbourg, he flawlessly weaves together an intricate narrative, employing intelligently crafted and top-tier soundscapes, tantalizing the senses of the receptive crowd. He has graced renowned German venues such as Tanzhaus West, MTW Club, Loft Club, Disco Zwei, Gotec Club, and many more, showcasing his skills as a DJ and leaving his mark without a doubt.

Vinyl only live recording from my dantz festival performance. Played before inspirarional souls Lena Willikens, DVS1 & Blawan, humbled to have been part of this!

For this special warmup I tried to explore some places apart from the usual hipnotic/deep techno discurse. My goal was to show local people there is a lot to discover within electronic music, knowing there was gonna be an intense long techno journey after my performance. Felt it was the ideal place to take some risks :)

Upstairs Basement is first and foremost an intimate techno and house club night. A collaborative scheme building and nurturing connections. Inviting queers, music lovers, and whoever needs it that night, the Upstairs Basement parties are rooted in honesty, joy, and resilience. Our nights pulse with a respectful interplay of past and present, where bodies connect freely to the rhythm. 

Here, hospitality is radical: a space of acceptance, where diversity isn’t just celebrated but wielded as strength.
