Born in Armenia but now calling Los Angeles home, Ruben Karapetyan quickly emerged as a hyped talent in the trend-driven state of progressive house becoming one of the main genre actual artists. Title theme is anchored by a warm and rippling groove, emerging melodies with a denser and more rhythmic ambience creates a hypnotic atmosphere bound to conquer the dance floor audience. Both “Derby” and “Human Synthesizer” carry a sinister atmosphere, as the bassline is accompanied by glitchy effects and abstract metallic textures, giving a futuristic and at the same time dark aesthetic. A mix of Indie Dance characteristics with the darkness of Techno and melodic layers that seem to work very well together.
Gulin has an advanced background as instrumentalist and digger and includes in his productions references that come from Rock and Jazz, now inserted in a new context to create moments of immersion on the dance floor.
