Schöppou (DJ/Producer) – Biography

Behind the artist name Schöppou stands Marcel Schöpperle, born in Freiburg and lifes raised in the sun-drenched city of Kehl (Ortenaukreis, Germany). At the age of 15, his passion for techno was rewarded with his first small home studio. That’s where he began experimenting, composing, and shaping his very own sound.
What started as a simple hobby soon became a professional journey – driven by his perfectionism and deep love for music – leading him to produce his own original tracks.

Within the colorful diversity of the club scene, Schöppou quickly found his musical home. His straight-forward techno style has become distinctive and continues to attract an ever-growing fanbase, especially in the Germany / France / Switzerland border region, where his bookings steadily increased.

When the well-known Techno-Bunker Freiburg was looking for fresh talents, Schöppou caught their attention and soon became a resident DJ, opening new doors in the scene. Clubs such as Drifters, Hans-Bunte-Areal, KGB, Crash, and Harmony Cellar have since become regular stops in his musical journey.

Festival appearances at events like the Seayou Festival and Grenzenlos Festival further cemented his presence and recognition within the techno community. In 2018, another milestone followed with his involvement at the Next Club in Strasbourg, where his energetic and consistent style helped him solidify his position as a respected name in the scene.

Depending on the gig, Schöppou’s sound can be harder, more melodic, or more soulful – yet always defined by a unique symbiosis of bass, emotion, and atmosphere.

Over the years, he has shared the stage with numerous respected artists such as Zakari & Blange, Klanglos, Daniel Hermann, Robust Forty-Two, Naomi Black, Silvano Scapeta, Marsi, Miss Dark, Bruchrille, Decker, Adam Beyer, Enrico Sangiuliano, Nelix, and many more.

In mid-2025, the renowned music collective and label Oxytoxy discovered Schöppou – marking another important milestone in his artistic career. Through this collaboration, he gained new creative impulses and further refined his musical identity.

Today, Schöppou is considered an established part of the southern German and Alsatian techno scene – an artist who stands out for his passion, precision, and an unshakable sense for energy and vibe.

Dj Mac-Miller ist seit 1993 als DJ aktiv und eine feste Größe der elektronischen Musikszene in der Region Lörrach, Basel und Freiburg. Mit seinem unverwechselbaren Stil und seiner Leidenschaft für Techno, House und Classics hat er die Clubkultur in der Region maßgeblich mitgeprägt.

Highlights der Diskographie
	•	1997: Erster Clubauftritt im legendären Take Off (Zero / Titanic) in Bad Säckingen, der den Startschuss für seine professionelle Karriere gab.
	•	2000er Jahre: Regelmäßige Auftritte in renommierten Clubs in Lörrach wie Tor 3, Rock IN, Lighthouse, FUN, Nachtschicht, Dream Club,
Maria Bar, Buddha Club (18Months), KTS Areal in Freiburg, Borderline Basel, Moon Club Basel
	•	2010er Jahre: Wichtiger Beitrag zur Förderung der regionalen Technokultur durch Sets bei Underground-Events und etablierten Partyreihen.
	•	2024: Resident-DJ im Maze Club (Steinen), wo er bei den erfolgreichen Partyreihen Zum Erhalt der Technokultur, In the Box und Back to Classics eine zentrale Rolle spielt.

Mit über 30 Jahren Erfahrung steht Mac-Miller für die lebendige Entwicklung der elektronischen Musik in der Region und begeistert mit seinen Sets ein breit gefächertes Publikum – von Oldschool-Fans bis hin zu neuen Generationen. Sein Einfluss auf die lokale Clubszene ist bis heute spürbar.
