This composition is a testament to the Sierra Norte, a place where every tree tells a story, and every rock whispers the secrets of time. It's inspired by the walks in these woods, the people who call this place home, and the ancient souls who once walked this hallowed ground.

This track is the final result of what began as a short 1 min piece that I created as my final work for my Sound Design class this last semester at Berklee School of Music. The assignment was to showcase some of the presets/patches that I had created for the class. I ended up liking the short piece so much, that I made a whole song out of it. I normally do not write music in the Key of C Major (too happy of a Key for my tastes usually), but I am pleased with how this turned out. I think this music piece really draws in a sense of longing and nostalgia.... or a mystical "Wanderlust" for a time and place never experienced. I was pleased to find that someone has indeed invented an existential term for this inner Nostalgia/Wanderlust.... "Anemoia", so thank you to the man who writes the 'Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows' for this term. I hope you all enjoy this music piece and thanks for listening! New Years Blessings to everyone!

We moan about how badly off we are, that everything is so expensive and that we can all do politics better than any others! ...instead of taking a step back and doing everything we can to make things better for our children and grandchildren. But that would mean that we would have to make concessions and take back our ego. The Feathered Crown is a card of pride, loss, and the aftermath of hubris. It draws upon two rich veins of folklore — the Appalachian belief in a feathered crown found beneath a dying person’s pillow, and the ancient myth of the Sirens and the Muses. Together, these stories form a layered symbol of reckoning, the echoes of lost glory, and the burdens of victory.

In Appalachian tradition, discovering a tightly woven feathered crown in a pillow was often seen as a sign that the soul of the deceased had passed to heaven, a mysterious mark of spiritual judgment. In mythology, after the Muses defeated the Sirens in a singing contest, the Sirens were stripped of their wings as punishment for their arrogance. The Muses, triumphant, wove the plucked feathers into radiant crowns — symbols of their victory but also of the destruction they wrought.

This card stands at the intersection of triumph and regret. It speaks of victories that come at a cost, the spoils of conquest weighed down by lingering guilt or sorrow. The Feathered Crown reminds us that success without humility invites ruin. It asks whether our pursuits of recognition or superiority are worth the burdens we carry in their wake.

Songster version was a little ‘copla’ about not being able to be with, nor without, a loved person.  As usual, I’ve ‘upgraded’ it, process from which you only get the final result, normally. 

But, following lyrics’ contradictions, I not only serve parts with different levels of (dis)order in heavy rock - flamenco sauce, but raw vs very cooked parts as well, starting with the improvised phone recording of the very first idea I had to develop the song, so please excuse my failures and noises.
