This song is about feeling lonely and dealing with suicidal thoughts while trying to grow as a person. when its difficult to deal with the things that way you down, trust god because there is a knowing that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you. So towards the end I realize I am becoming stronger when faced with these battles and storms.

With this song I tried to break out of my super serious cycle of songwriting and instead try something more influenced by TAD and the Melvins. Vincent Price clip is from a short story called "The Smoker" from an old obscure out-of-print Halloween record. This may sound strange, but I was making this song at about 4:30am and Star Trek original series was on the TV and so that's where the title "Bones" came from and I just kind of went with it from there lol

This song is really my tribute to the original Black Sabbath and how much they influenced my guitar style as well as my lyrical writing. The verses are somewhat similar in melody to "Dear Father" but if this went too far I apologize. In the unlikely event that this song ever makes money I will make sure Ozzy gets credit.

Andrew aka Toxodon. Lonely Host began when I joined a band named Nemesis circa late 1999. I began as vocalist/guitarist with Jordan on bass and Jeff on guitar. We mostly played songs by Rage Against the Machine at first. We all went to a local Moneen show one night and immediately began writing new songs influenced by them. We decided the new band's name would be Lonely Host (credit goes to Jeff for the name). By this time we had acquired a drum set and Jeff began his tenure as a successful drummer while Jordan took up DJ'ing under the moniker of LocoMotive. I remained lone guitarist, vocalist and lyricist. Starting in 2001 began experimenting with home recording and FL Studio. Eventually I was programming rudimentary drums, synth and overdubbing bass. This transformation was not reflective of any disdain for my bandmates but rather a product of my isolation at home. Jeff and Jordan have many different influences, some overlapping with mine (especially RATM, Tool and Floyd) while my main influences include Tool, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, Oasis, Stone Roses, RATM, Deftones, Primus, Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Nine Inch Nails, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, John Carpenter and Ennio Morricone. Shortly after my 40th birthday in 2024, I decided to open a new chapter for Lonely Host continuing on very much as I was back in 2006. I can't recommend Audacity and FL Studio enough. And I still use the multi-effects pedal, wah-wah pedal and guitars and bass that I used back then. UPDATE: I have acquired a BOSS GT-1 effects board and am now using  that for my recordings going forward of both guitar and bass. I am still trying to find a working solution for recording vocals because using a webcam's mic is just wrong lol.
