We are very proud to confirm the release date and full tracklisting for the debut album from Maztek. Three Point Zero will be arriving on 15th December!

Based around the concept that we as a species have come to a point in our own evolution where man, machine and spirituality have all merged together, Maztek’s aptly named ThreePointZero explores the relationship between the real and the cyber world.

Featuring an array of well-chosen collaborations of both vocalists and producers alike – such as Dutch hip hop crew Dope D.O.D, Hardware / Virus’s BTK, Viper’s Insideinfo, Ram’s Audio, Italian new blood Disprove and vocalist MC Coppa. Maztek has created a cogent and extremely innovative long player that once again proves why DnB will never die.

The album will be available on 3xLP, digipak CD and digital formats. Also look out for exclusive album bundle deals avilable only from the Hardware store.

The latest free offering sprouting from The subterranean Burrows of UM HQ is germinated by J Jariwala (A.k.A Optimystic) and his brother Harish (A.K.A Glitch).

This is the first Collaboration from the brothers, digging down to their indian roots while applying Dub and Jungle to the mix, creating a hybrid cross of different musical strains!
Atmospheric elements within the mix were recorded by Harish while out in india, some of which can be downloaded for free from his soundcloud and used within your own works. If you do use them please do not hesitate to link them to your creations!

Cosmic Bridge welcomes DJ Madd!!

DJ Madd is Hungarian-born New York resident Peter Simon. Arriving via Bristol and Tokyo he has been writing music since his early teens and scored his first vinyl release in '08. Highly acclaimed for his WAR series of white label releases, he bridges the sonic connection between underground bass music and the Jamaican reggae sound. Amongst others, he has also recorded for N-Type's Wheel & Deal Records, Dubstep mainstays Boka & Subway, Dub specialists ZamZam Sounds, Junglists 36 Hertz and Chemical Records brilliant and sadly defunct Black Box label. 

Madd's Cosmic Bridge debut, the "Rum Punch EP" further refines his soundbwoy science with four big riddims designed for big rigs. Operating in the fertile 160 BPM range he combines heavy 808's with classic dubwise sounds, touching on Jungle, OG '06 Dubstep, Hip-Hop and Dub. He says....  "My focus is to bring the fusion of reggae music with modern sounds to the next level."

Sharpened stepper 'Dredlok' fires the first round at Babylon; sci-fi dread synths conspire with the spectres of a murderous Ragga vocal, natty halfstep drums and an incendiary LFO tweaked bassline that will rumble on any system very nicely. EP title track 'Rum Punch' follows with steel drums (their inclusion inspired by Dillinja's classic All Aboard) rolling breaks and colossal weighted bass enveloping another fine-cut 808 beat.

On the flip, is the more stoned and rolling, 'SPCL RQST'. Wide arcing synth pads and shadowy robo-Rastafari vocals samples drift out into space, while the tracks pressurised digidub FX and seriously deep dub chords give a riddim lesson for many, and a red-eyed flashback for the rest. 'Duppy' closes; a sticky digickal roots bubbler for all malevolent spirits. Raw sweeping square wave bass and more dub FX ride on the cushioned sub bass and hydro-charged breakbeats that, like the rest of the EP, are all mixed down for serious soundsystem play, no heavy limiting/compression just dynamic vibes, so we let it all breathe!

Om Unit says.... "Cosmic Bridge releases so far have drawn on a lot of styles within sound system culture but I had been thinking, what's missing from the picture so far is a representation of the dub element; So when legend in the scene DJ Madd approached me with some more uptempo tunes it seemed fitting to draw on his talents. He specialises in modern dub and does it with such style. So here we are.. a killer 4 tracker with a slice of pineapple on the B side. Who can argue? Rum Punch mate, vibes!"

This full length album for Headz from Jungle  Drum & Bass alumni Dom & Roland comes at a perfect time for the artist and the label, it follows his massive ‘Outta Endz / Unofficial Jah remix’ release and comes at a time where the label has been at its most fertile in recent memory.

The album harks back to pioneering 90s aesthetic of the music but it doesn’t feel retrospective, in fact it feels futuristic-  a thread that Dom has made sure ties all his work together.  The reference points for the album stretch far and wide, from the inspiring and equally green eyed Sunday Sessions at Blue Note to RZA’s approach to sampling.

 Dom’s own words on the album perhaps shed the most light:

“The album is inspired and processed via a collection of moments I had through growing up, the things i was into, memories of good and bad times i'd had and the music i was listening to at the time”

Collaborations are kept sparse and potent, US legend Hive turns in a very rare appearance on D.M.T and vocal features come from Robert Manos and Natalie Duncan.

The album is Dom & Roland exorcising his artistic demons and we’re proud to be releasing the project on Metalheadz.

Jem-One started his journey into the Drum and Bass scene during 2007 with signings to many labels such as Mac 2, 36 Hertz and Vampire Records.
After a break of a few years, Jem-One is back and firmly establishing himself within the deeper, darker, underground jungle scene and is definitely one to keep your eye on.
Footsteps and Frequency takes his sound down the tech steppy, hard hitting path.

Vince Rollin has been producing since 1993 and started receiving attention in 2017 after remixing the jungle classic ‘Screwface’ by Brainkillers, which was released on Kemet Records.
2017 also saw Vince throwing down releases on 36 Hertz and Skeleton, with a host of remixes, collabs and solo productions, finding support from some veterans of the scene.
Prometheus and Symbiosis have that trademark heavyweight sound  of his that shake the walls of any dancehall.

We would usually sum up the 12' in our own words but we believe Goldie's own comments to Fracture upon first listen of the lead track probably do the release far more justice than we could!
Whilst sat on a plane to Australia last year Goldie immediately fired off the following comments to Fracture himself to express his overwhelming approval of the Music ....
 "Im pulling out my teeth wanting to beat the guy next to me with a Snare and 10" dubplate !!!! This is one of the most original things I've heard in a long while! I HAVE to have this on Headz!!"
