Tim Reaper returns to Lobster Theremin with a weighty masterclass of all things old school jungle, rave and D&B. 

2020 has been a massive year for the rising London-based DJ/producer Tim Reaper, with an impressive output of twelves on labels such as 7th Storey Projects, Disc World & Repertoire, Beyond Electronix. On top of this, Reaper was also nominated in the ‘Breakthrough Producer’ category at this years DJ Mag awards, as well as the ‘Best Remix/Edit’ category. 2020 has paved the way for what is set to be a massive future from the versatile producer, his infectious brand of high energy jungle & D&B is making him the producer on everyones lips. 

His latest outing ‘Teletext’ EP for London based record label Lobster Theremin explores deep all things bass driven, head high rave breaks sit on top of euphoric vocals and synth patterns, creating a feel good masterpiece. Tim joins forces with long time friend & collaborator Devnull on two tracks, blending both of the producers individual sounds into a hybrid mash up, which works oh so good.

Clam Jam

Deep beneath the Sea of Quintessence (the ocean of dreams), lies  the Bassquarium — a glowing, resonant expanse where coral reefs hum with sub-bass, crystal anemones pulse like speaker cones, and the currents themselves carry rhythm.

Here, once every hundred tides, the clams assemble for the legendary Clam Jam — a twinkling underwater jungle rave powered by breakbeats chopped finer than plankton. Their shells snap in polyrhythmic syncopation as bubble basslines roll across the Bassquarium floor, summoning dream-eels, prawn skankers, and bioluminescent stingrays to the jam.

At the center towers the Grand Bivalve, ancient and gleaming, dropping Amen breaks so heavy they send shockwaves through the seabed, shaking entire kelp forests into skank mode. The water glows brighter with every drop, as jellyfish choirs sing shimmering chords that spiral up through the dream ocean like smoke from a deep-sea temple.

They say if you drift asleep on a warm night and hear faint jungle rolling in the distance, you’ve caught an echo of the Clam Jam — the Bassquarium’s eternal party at the very bottom of the Sea of Dreams.
