For Clint's second solo effort on Second State he brings us two big room jams. With the Throwing Stones EP he takes the same approach as he did with the previous Warpaint EP by going for two different vibes on either side of the record. 
On the A side we have 'Throwing Stones'; a peak time club tune perfect for dark spaces and strobe lights. With giant rolling sub bass, a heavy kick, crisp hi hats and crunchy hand claps the groove slowly grows into a big break with atmospheric chimes and vocal snippets. Soon you are lost in an ethereal break, but suddenly snapped back into reality as the bass changes and a single looping synth takes center stage creating a driving yet euphoric peak time floor filler. 
With the flip side, Clint goes for a warmer, uplifting tone with 'Come Undone'. Starting with finger snaps and a growing arpeggio, the vibe slowly builds as big toms and dreamy atmospherics introduce a massive sub bass line. As a shaker creeps up and another synth blends with the original arpeggio the beat finally drops. A solid four to the floor groove ensues and culminates into a wash of delayed chimes as the breakdown introduces the lead; an unforgettable brass line that is sure to have all the hands in the air at a sunny open air or a morning at the club.

The ever-impressing @Discotexas imprint is back this November and return with an excellently sculpted 9 track offering alongside Duro from Mexico City’s @Bufirolas, who delivers a breathtaking second long player to his evolving and expanding catalogue.

Bufi aka Mateo González Bufi, is a name known to many across South America and beyond following releases on the likes of La Belle Records, Kitsuné, Electrique Music and his own imprint Duro over the past five years. Having expertly merged an unconditional love for synthesizers and drum machines with a classical background, Bufi has gone on to develop an eclectic sound that subtly combines driving techno and slick disco with delicate jazz and classical influences, evidence of which can be found throughout the 9 productions on offer straight out of Mexico City.

Our favourite is the last track on the album ‘No Pare’ which fuses dynamic techno elements with rich sonics. Captivating and absorbing its another impressive piece of studio work from one of South America’s finest talents, and joins the list of notable releases to emerge from the
Lisbon based Discotexas imprint.

Toy Tonics' main men Rhode & Brown are back with a new EP full of their very special, funk influenced, analogue sounding dance tracks. The two guys are part of that new, growing German scene of producers that are interested in the more jazz and analogue orientated and weird side of house music. As their label Toy Tonics is. Rhode & Brown's new „Snabsnus“ EP shows a great range of their musical inspirations: funky acid basslines, hazy breakbeats, rare soul-samples - and this very special nasty atmosphere that is becoming their trademark sound.

Rhode & Brown have made this new EP in a little house in L'estrechure - in the south of France. You can feel the chilled vibe of the Provence here. It got that positive, soulful atmosphere.
Fun fact: When the boys met in 2010 they were selling each other electronic equipment. There was a mistake and they started to fight. While fighting they realised they have the same musical interests, style ideas and passions. And here we are in 2016: They released 3 EPs on Toy Tonics + tracks on Let's Play House, Needwant, Rose Records from Leipzig. And now they even started their own label Slam City Jams.

Yes, 2016 is a good year for Friedrich Trede and Stephan Braun aka Rhode & Brown: They are part of that new Munich crew around Charlie Club, Toy Tonics, Public Possession. All people that are obsessed with obscure vinyl, analogue equipment and experimenting with different unusual forms of House music and electronic Funk. These different forms of FunkHouse music are exploding everywhere right now: In Berlin with the The Money Sex crew, in Sweden Studio Barnhus or Australia with the guys from Voyage records. All connected - all in the similar vibe.
