About a month ago, I was checking out new music on Soundcloud when I noticed a playlist by @leila-wilson-woofle titled "Sonic 3- Alternate". Interested, I checked it out and was nicely surprised. While the songs didn't quite adhere to Genesis limitations, they still sounded really nice and, IMO, fit well with what they replaced. Link to Sonic 3- Alternate:

I was recently reminded of Sonic 3- Alternate and revisited it. Then I got the idea to recreate some zones myself, and that's is where this song came from. Even better is that I was able to do both acts in a couple of hours, and resulting in a first: two songs being uploaded on the same day. Plus, I've got two songs I have yet to release, so I'm pretty loaded up on music right now.

Death Egg Zone- Act 1: Alternate [YM2612+SN76489]

And here is the second act! I originally only had the lead instruments switched up and the tempo increased as they are here, but I knew I had to give it just a little bit more to make it stand out from Act 1. This resulted in the weird blips and whatnots you'll find here.

Fun fact: The tempo increase comes from years ago when I thought the original Death Egg Act 2 got a slight increase, only to find out my ears had been tricking me and it had been going the same speed the entire time.

This song was originally a part of a school game project, and was first made for only the NES's 2a03 chip in FamiTracker. After some time, I dug it back out and retracked it with the Namco 163 chip. This is the result.

Interrogation [2a03]

So, here it is. After about a week in secrecy, my first (kinda) long original is finished. The basis for the title is the unknown evils that lurk in the Everfree Forest (yes, I watch MLP.) It was created in FamiTracker version 0.4.2 using the NES's/Famicom's internal RP2a03 sound chip plus all 8 channels of the Namco 163 expansion chip.
