1981 an eleven year old kid gets a gift, that is the New Life 7 inch by Depeche Mode, from that very moment the cold beats of drum machines and the alien sounds of synthesizers are the soundtrack of his life, until today.

Living the eighties as a teenager, he absorbs every futuristic and dark sound as a fan, new wave, goth, proto EBM, classics like Kraftwerk or Tangerine Dream ...

1987 marks the switch from being pasive to being active, he gets his first synth and drum machine combo as a christmas gift from their parents, a second hand Kawai Sx 240 keyboard and a Korg kpr 77 drum machine, and starts making his own noises and beats from scratch. Soon he forms his first music project, called Ballet Mecánico, with his two fellows Groof and Daniel Erbe.

Heavily synth pop influenced in the beginning, their sound soon moves to darker territories after discovering Front 242 and Nitzer Ebb and later moving into proto rave sounds via the Frequencies album by LFO or the Yellow album by Orbital, as well as those lovely Detroit compilations released in the UK by Network records: Bio Rhythm and Retro techno amomg others. This project last until the mid nineties and left two vinyl releases.

1995 is when his solo career as Hd Substance starts, releasing a track on the Electronic Generators compilation, a showcase of spanish techno pioneers at the moment, on Geometrik records, home of the seminal industrial cult band Esplendor Geométrico a stepping stone to his debut album Eleven on the also cult label Elefant Records.

After more than 20 years in the bussines, more than 30 Ep’s and six full lenght albums, Hd Substance is still here as a full actor in the scene, writing, composing, remixing and playing electronic beats all over the globe, as live performer or as traditional beatmatching dj. An entire life devoted to electronic music in any form.

After many years of being musically influenced by the Berlin club scene, Reign. started finally producing electronic music himself. Initially as part of the duo disørda, he started to release music under his second pseudonym in 2019. He soon was able to place his creations on important labels like Emphatic Rec, Concrete Records and Aarden Records. His musical identity has ever been evolving, from a raw industrial to today's deep and hypnotic sound.

Drumcell was born as Moe Espinosa in Los Angeles’ San Gabriel Valley. Far away from the glamour and glitter of Hollywood, he cut his teeth growing up in a vibrant, culturally diverse neighborhood that still breeds inspiration for his work. San Gabriel Valley is also where he and the Raíz brothers, Vangelis and Vidal, met and founded Droid Behavior in the early 2000s which lead to the infamous Interface warehouse series and lauded techno label Droid Recordings. 

A classically trained musician in his youth, Moe explores and discovers the analogue world as much as the digital world of music production, to finally combine them into his very own raw, suspenseful and hypnotic style. Influenced by a myriad of music as well as science fiction and machines, he has developed an addiction to analog synthesis which has led to ceaseless experiments in his studio in search of new, mind-expanding sounds. As one of the most esoteric techno artists in North America, his sound disregards genre limitations and is everything but conventional techno.

This style has caught the attention of many of the world’s top techno jocks, and he has released on labels such as DROID, CLR, Electric Deluxe, Torque, Silent Steps, Blank Code, Ibadan, Detroit Underground, and much more. This style has also reached numerous prestigious international clubs and festivals. From Berlin ́s techno mecca Berghain to the main stage of The Movement in Detroit to North American nightclubs like Output and Stereo to festivals across Europe, Latin America, Japan and Australia - Drumcell’s sound can be heard around the world.

Scøpe, a Korean techno producer/DJ and administrator of SCOPAVIK Podcast, is now . Composition methods encompassing atonal music, experimental music, spectral music, minimal music and etc. that he had learned when he majored in contemporary music composition, and rhythmical elements of Jazz and Black music that he has had deep interest in since his childhood altogether largely influenced the music that he pursues now, and he is now on his way of establishing his own world of music with many remix tracks and EP releases.

His dynamic DJ sets almost push the listeners into trance by eliciting their subconscious movements with new grooves which rhythmical structures in each track organically intertwine with each other and incrementally accumulate into, and then all of a sudden lead them to a lyrical tone, thus presenting listeners with the type of joy that only techno music can deliver by creating an intersection between reason and instinct.

Erratic Podcast 157 comes from one of the young, rising stars out of Buenos Aires, Argentina, ALDERAAN. His sound is piercing and enveloping and over the last couple of years he has released superlative works across Planet Rhythm, Mindtrip, and Animal Farm to name a few. Next month, in July 2017, his latest EP is due on Warm Up, featuring an incredible four-tracker including a remix of the boss himself, Mulero, and is no doubt his magnus opus to date. The mix he contributed for the series is no less extraordinary and showcases the entire range of sounds he is known for: percussive drum patterns, electrifying synths, and driving tribalesque undertones. French artist based in Paris, Von Grall is an emerging figure at the forefront of French contemporary techno scene. As a DJ Von Grall is full of unique characteristics and energy and as a producer his output has pushed him to the deeper and atmospheric frontier of techno. 

Profound, immersive and ritualistic are the keywords summarising Von Gall's aesthetic and style. His each performance is unique while it carries a wide ranges of texture and richness that's truly unrivalled. After releasing a couple of EPs on few quality labels including Semantica Records, Von Grall released his debut LP 'Infinitum' on Horo in February 2018.

Susanne Kirchmayr aka Electric Indigo works as musician, composer and DJ.
