Premiere: Maeksll - Tragoidia [Scordisci]

The sixth guest in the Scordisci podcast series is Motivo.

From the smoke emerges Motivo, the Amsterdam-based DJ and producer originally from Athens whose sound bridges the intensity of Greek roots with the pulse of the Dutch underground. His music is shaped by early 2000s influences, countless nights on dancefloors and the shifting movements of Amsterdam and Berlin. What forms is a signature built on hypnotic rhythms, dark immersive atmospheres and trippy, mind-bending detail.

Growing up during Greece’s financial crisis left him with a deep awareness of inequality and uncertainty. These experiences still shape his outlook and his creativity. As a founding member of the Kinitra collective, he organises fundraising events and supports initiatives that use music as a catalyst for community action.

In Amsterdam he found the space to refine his identity as an artist. His debut on Xelima marked the beginning of his rise and this year his EP “Reborn” arrived on Scordisci Records, both on vinyl and digital formats. His productions have travelled far, reaching dancefloors such as Saule, Fuse, TillaTec, Radion and FOLD, and gaining support from artists including Richie Hawtin and AgainstMe.

His DJ sets reach for emotional depth and immersive storytelling, guiding the room toward a deeper state of consciousness. This mix captures that intention and the years that led him to it.
