Serving as a sonic time capsule, ‘Emblem of America’ EP takes its name from a historical print depicting an allegorical indigenous American. B-Dot draws parallels between contemporary life and ancient times, invoking childhood memories of digging fossils with archeological tools, the re-discovery of her roots and lineage and nostalgic musical references.

‘Emblem of America’ traverses through club-focused tracks such as ‘Scalp Collector’ and ‘Tears of Diamond’ which soundscape freedom and release on dance floors, to honest moments of introspection. Lead single ‘Honeymoon’ featuring artist D3AD6OY marks a pivotal turning point in B-Dot’s production, pushing her vocal boundaries into a fuller dynamic range. Balancing sensuality, a shared reverence for 90s R&B, and written with a sexy music video in mind, lyrically the track explores a space of intense attraction between two people: “when I look in your eyes, I’m on a honeymoon”. 

‘Gift of Discernment’ embraces vulnerability, speaking to the sadness of seeing people’s true colours, and feelings of ostracisation and rejection. As she sings “I see through the fakes and smiling faces”, B-Dot translates her pain into resilience, intentionally stripping back production to symbolise overcoming shyness and singing for an audience. Closing with a deep sense of longing on percussive ‘Dream the Star’, across five tracks the EP is a portal into the emotional veneration and tenderness that underscores B-Dot’s work, as she forges new ground in her journey as a vocalist. 

B-Dot is a Philadelphia-born music artist whose genre-defying creations weave ethereal, atmospheric soundscapes, inviting listeners into realms of reflection and raw emotion. Drawing from her Black, American Indian and Puerto Rican roots, B-Dot's music explores themes of identity, history, mood, and texture. She began DJing and cultivating her artistry in New York City in 2015, and independently released her first two albums ‘Algorhythm’ and ‘Love Note’.

A phone call with a past mentor who at age 95 is still teaching piano, a memory of giggling at her mother transfixed whilst photographing swans, a feeling of being floored whilst unearthing letters from her parents’ relationship. Exploring her most personal narratives to date, Laenz’s album ‘88 keys’ is suffused by the power of unwavering devotion - both towards others and towards lifelong study of music. Leaving behind the guilt of adolescent indignation and deviation from classical music towards fascination with leftfield dance music, the release circles back: a reverence to former piano teachers and the nurture they instilled in her.

Across ’88 keys’, loosely tethered memories and the intricate yet unpredictable sonic turns Laenz is known for are grounded through bass frequencies. On ’’11’ which samples recordings of Laenz’s last public performance of Bach’s ‘Chaconne in D minor’ arranged by Busoni, sustained solemnity is beset against misty, dubbed-out percussive explorations of piano acoustics. ’’24’ reminisces on lazy walks by Berlin canals, basslines ebbing hazily below spiralling hi-hats and caliginous melodies. ’9-30-91’ delicately re-casts one of the many love letters written by her father to her mother when they began dating, into a sonically distinct, tenderly stripped back vocal track. The lyrics read: ‘My dear, I miss you so much, I miss you deeply, from the bottom of my heart. Thoughts of you, occupy my whole heart, and every corner of my mind’.

Conversations, past performances, and archival recordings are run through iterations of radio transmission-reception, audio becoming irreversibly lost or altered into ambiguity. Each titled after a year, though not emotionally bound to it, the tracks are an aggregate of Laenz’s desire to calibrate them actively in her current memory—resisting any inevitable, obsolescent effects of time’s passing. In Laenz’s words ’88 keys’ ‘though a fraction of the appreciation I have for my parents, Carolyn Shaak, and Larry Graham, this project was from start to finish an ode to their impact. 

The singles ‘’11’ and ‘‘24’ are out on the 2nd and 9th May, ahead of the full album release on 16th May 2025.

'Huiracchuro' is the first single taken from the EP 'Aviario', out on the 23rd February.

'Aviario' is a collaborative EP by Ecuadorian electronic music producers Entrañas and Ene Ese, alongside visual artist Destello. The release coalesces the unique sonic palette, textures and rhythms of Ecuadorian music with the darkness of Club and Bass music. Taking influence from bird species inhabiting the diverse ecosystems of Ecuador, Entrañas and Ene Ese seamlessly transmute delicately layered soundscapes and birdsong into cutting drum patterns, creating invigorating compositions that spotlight the rich musical heritage of Ecuador and its natural environment.

'Aviario' ranges sonically from moments of ambient textural exploration in 'Trogón', to dance floor ready tracks such as the single 'Huiracchuro' where overdriven melodies weave between sultry drums making heavy use of 6/8 polyrhythms found in Ecuadorian genres such as Albazo and Bomba. The third track 'Curiquingüe' features additional composition from producer Zunfo.

The EP is accompanied by six corresponding artworks by Destello, who reimagines the colours and forms of the birds into candescent abstractions.

Entrañas & Ene Ese - Huiracchuro

Hollywood birders Harry and Tom deliver four DJ unfriendly tracks aimed squarely at the parish hall. Sonic forage-ables and contemporary barndance to storm cruck frames across the Tunbridge Wells - Pontypool connection.

‘Drum, Botany & the Brash’ is the product of six months of outings and studio sessions by Forest Casual, a collaborative project by Harry Murdoch and Thomas Morley. These songs assemble nocturnal field recordings, barely metric rhythms, the May Day dawn chorus, wilted bouzouki and wood-pigeon wub. Two heads colliding to create a third, completely distinct from its makers.The resulting four tracks are dub infused soundsystem folk for the funglist massive, just don’t call it Folktronica. Entrenched in the music are many musical tangents explored in Harry’s basement, anecdotes of work and play on the ropes, and memories of jumping fences and squinting at woodpeckers. 

Harry Murdoch makes music as hmurd and has released with TT Label, Gin & Platonic, All Centre and more. He co-runs the label Cherche Encore and is in the band Hard On Yarn Sourdonk Communion. Harry is chronically ill. He mostly makes music with code.
Thomas Morley is a free improviser currently exploring composition by experience and relationship. He is 1/2 of microband ‘mosspit’ and provides side-person duties for artists in need of pads and foley. Hailing from South Wales, Tom finds catharsis by abseiling on heritage buildings and playing 5-string banjo.

Carlycore’s ‘Dissociative Thoughts’ EP is a sonic love letter centring raw emotion and identity exploration. The EP's title reflects a fractured reality, navigating joy and alienation as a trans woman in Lima, while the erratic genre-bending mirrors Carlycore's own dissociation and unfiltered self-expression.

Anchored by a fierce blend of Afro-peruvian rhythms , heavy perreo, and ambient transitions, ‘Dissociative Thoughts’ evokes the frenetic energy of “licuadora” music (blending machine music) of the Peruvian underground scene, where DJs switch through multiple genres and clashing rhythms within minutes. From the euphoric release of ‘Éxtasis en mi mente’  to existential reflections in ‘El tiempo pasa volando’, each track accelerates through percussive textures, blending reggaeton beats with industrial experimentation.  ‘Contacto 0’  embodies heartbreak and frustration, channeling unresolved tension into blistering, high-energy beats. Embracing a visceral, unpolished aesthetic, the EP serves as an intimate and unapologetic immersion into Carlycore’s fragmented but resilient world.
