Based beetween Mexico and Spain, German Wagener and Nicolas Damonte, argentine producers are the head of PAAX (Tulum), with more than 15 years of experience in the music industry.

Aaroon's @aaroonofficial musical background is a technicolored meandering across genres and cultures as this London-born, Thailand-raised, Berlin-based producer-DJ satisfied his urge to shake, rattle, swipe and prod every instrument he could get his hands on. When asked to shed light on this latest mix for the Scorpios label, Aaroon pondered: "Maybe it's a DJ mix to go with my Cry for Kashmir release? Or as a re-cap on the season... a type of closing set? Some times the music just magically comes out, and that is the case here with "Syria" by new Sol*Selectas artist Unders from Amsterdam. After several successful tunes above the 120 BPM mark on labels like Sincopat and Groove On, "Syria" was Unders' first attempt at slower grooves, and an accidental experiment that just "fell into place, and was automatic magic". Syria's current political unrest is all over the news and social media, and the story being painted is difficult to watch. Driven to create a song which goes against all the negative publicity, Unders says "between all the negativity, the more i looked into the situation, the country, its people and its culture, the more this track reminded me of so much beauty the media doesn’t portray." The song itself a slow minimal trip with chopped up guitar licks, a gorgeous flute sample that takes the listener to far off desert lands, and features the vocals of Veerle.  Satori is yet another up and coming producer from the Netherlands, gaining instant recognition sharing the stage and studio with Acid Pauli, and producing incredible tunes utilizing live instruments played by himself, and tastefully incorporating these with electronic elements. His remix preserves the original message of "Syria" lowering the BPM to an even more hypnotic 104 BPMs. Satori adds middle eastern strings and chords, swapping out the original vocal for a more Saharan inspired call, and even plays delicately with some acid sounds furthering the listeners journey.  
Both songs are meant to invoke peaceful images of Syria, and conjure up positive intention on the dance floor. Sol*Selectas is very excited to present the debut song "Syria" from Unders, and the amazing remix by Satori,  two artists from the Netherlands you would do well to keep your eyes and ears open to in 2016.

The 50th release on Sol Selectas Records comes from the label founder himself - Sabo, and features the musical talents of a mother & her son, as represented by the title Earth & Sun. Twenty year old Elijah Sage plays the ancient ravanhatta string instrument on the opening track "Young Wisdom", weaving an emotional mid tempo blanket to lie under the Sun.  "Obatala" is the story of the Sky Father Orisha, who creates all human bodies according to Yoruban mythology. The deep tribal groove is complemented by the vocals of Elijah's mother Nikila Badua, representing the roots of the Earth. 

Nicola Cruz from Ecuador, delivers a stellar remix of "Obatala"  taking us high into the Andes Mountains, where organic percussion and live marimbas flow like wind through the valleys. Blond:ish transforms "Young Wisdom" into a psychedelic tech house trip, adding infectious build ups and mind-altering  drums for peak time energy. And lastly Paris' Birds of Mind take us on a voyage into deep bliss with their ethereal reinterpretation of "Young Wisdom". 
The artwork by Helia Jamali, represents the loving balance between the Earth & Sun, and the energy they have created, makes the puppy flower dance in the desert wind.

The next release from Sol Selectas is from label creator Sabo, and Amine K of Morocco. The title “Tiniri” means Sahara in traditional Berber tribal language, and the song transports us straight into the red sand dunes. All the instruments and vocals were recorded in Marrakesh, while exploring the labyrinth of the Medina. The vocals were written and recorded on the spot, in Arabic, and both songs feature the traditional Moroccan instruments; the Krake, Gembri, and Dharbouka.  

The 2nd track “Amanar” is the Berber word for the star constellation Orion, and is a guiding light for wanderers crossing over to Morocco via the Gibraltar Straight. Amanar features distorted brass horns, and beautiful flamenco style guitars, representing the strong Spanish influence that exists in Morocco.

For the remix of "Tiniri" we welcome Matthias Meyer to the label, whose name needs no introduction. He strips back the song focusing on a steady driving tribal beat. The deep hypnotic groove removes the vocals, and adds more atmospheric bliss to the journey. 

The artwork form Helia Jamali features a photo taken of a street musician in Morocco,   playing the infamous Gembri and singing with pure joy,  amidst a desolate Saharan backdrop. With a henna tattoo’ed hand covering his chest, we feel the powerful emotions of art, connecting to the Sol, through his heart.
