Flume & Chet Faker - Drop The Game

“Changes” is the long awaited solo debut from british-jamaican  femcee, Cham Phoenix. Up  until now she has been known for her performances as a member of  Future Roots crew ‘Ictus Sound.’  Phoenix was raised in Jamaica on a strict diet of reggae and bashment with a dash of  hip-hop thrown in for good measure but upon return to London she immediately fell in love with garage music and experienced the birth of grime. Her taste in music is as diverse as the music she makes. “Changes” takes centre stage with a bang.This is a song with a message- “Don’t be afraid of change. Just stay true and believe in yourself, then you can overcome any obstacles.” Her positive lyrics reaffirmed by Majkizioom’s uplifting beat make for an incredibly catchy song that marks the start of a new year full of hope. The melodic bass collage is  reminiscent of late 90s classic funky house music but stands out as a breath of fresh air in the current scene. Having previously collaborated with polish artists this track is the first of many confirmed solo releases by the british artist.

Wychowana na Jamajce, dorastająca w londyńskim gwarze, raperka parająca się grime’em, lecz nie ograniczająca się do niego, wchodzi na scenę z przytupem i przesłaniem - nie należy bać się zmian, za to należy zacząć je od siebie, co świetnie koresponduje z początkiem roku i gremialnym wysypem rozmaitych postanowień. Masa pozytywnej energii, która wydobywa się z najnowszego utworu londyńskiej nawijaczki, opakowana jest w melodyjny bassowy kolaż nawiązujący klimatem do końca lat 90. i klasycznego funky house’u, będący zarazem powiewem świeżości na rosnącej w siłę scenie, skupionej wokół niskich częstotliwości. Za produkcję i realizację materiału odpowiada Majkizioom. Kawałek jest pierwszym akcentem w ciągu releasów zapowiadanych przez brytyjską artystkę mającą już na koncie współpracę z polskimi artystami.
